On the Sabbath at the Great Vespers

By Thy mercy, O Christ, Thou hast destroyed the power of death and made the devil's delusion empty: Thou hast saved mankind by faith; Thy hymn is ever brought to Thee.

Thou hast enlightened all creation by Thy Resurrection, O Lord; and again the paradise hath been restored: whatsoever creature doth praise Thee, singeth a hymn to Thee evermore.

Glory be to Thee, O Lord, and to Thy Christ, and to the Holy Spirit, the Uncreated Power, the Eternal Godhead, Triune in Unity, reigning for ever and ever.

We bow in honor of Thy most holy Name, O Jesus Christ, and we sing Thy resurrection, glorifying it: for by Thy early coming, Thou hast healed us all.

We sing to Thee, O Saviour, from the depths of our being: for Our sake Thou wast crucified, and on the third day didst rise again, granting unto us great mercy.

Thou, O Spirit of the Gospel, didst descend into hell: Be of good cheer, preaching, for now have I conquered, I am the Resurrection and the Life, I have raised thee up, having broken the gates of death.

Worthy not being we who stand in thy most holy house, even this evening canticle do we send up to thee, calling with depths of heart:
O Lighten thou the world by thy three-day resurrection, O Lover of mankind, and turn away from the hands of thine enemies them that are thy creatures.

O Theotokos,

As we cannot marvel at Thy divine Incarnation, O Lord, most wonderful; for Thou didst not receive the blameless temptation of a man, but by Thyself, without a father, didst bring forth a body before the ages from a father born without a mother, neither undergoing change, nor mixture, nor division, but preserving in itself its own nature whole. Therefore, O Lady, Virgin and Mother of God, pray that our souls may be saved through the Orthodox confession of Thee.
