On the Sabbath at the Great Vespers

By Thy mercy, O Christ, the power of death is destroyed, and the devil's delusion is abolished: man's race is saved by faith; thy hymn is ever brought to Thee.

Thou hast enlightened all creation by Thy Resurrection, O Lord; and again the paradise hath been restored. All thy creatures praising thee, make their boast: thy testimony is ever sung to Thee.

I glorify the Lord and Saviour, and the Theotokos with power, and the Holy Spirit in His unseparated, uncreated divinity, triune in unity, reigning for ever and ever.

We bow in honor of Thy holy Body, O Christ, and we sing Thy resurrection and glorify it: for by Thy early coming Thou hast healed us all.

We sing to Thee, O Saviour, from the double wonder of Thy Incarnation: for our sake Thou wast crucified, and on the third day didst rise again, granting unto us great mercy.

In the bowels of hell descended Jesus Christ: be of good courage, preaching, now have I prevailed, for I am the Resurrection and the Raiser up, having rent asunder the gates of death.

Worthy not being we who stand within thy most holy house, in the evening we send forth this hymn, crying out from the depths, O Lord: Through thy three-day enlightenment, Thou hast enlightened the world; and with mercy hast thou turned men of thine own creation away from the hands of thy enemies, O Lover of mankind.

O Theotokos,

As we cannot marvel at Thy divine Incarnation, O Lord; for Thou didst not receive the blameless temptation, but in womanhood didst bring forth without a man, before the ages, the Body of Him who was born of a virgin, neither undergoing change nor mixture nor division, but preserving its own nature entire. Therefore, O Lady, preserve our souls righteously confessing Thee.
