Before the Word was born of the Father ever since the ages, and was made flesh from the Virgin's womb, come let us prostrate ourselves before Him: for having endured suffering and burial He hath delivered me, having willed it thus; and He rose from the dead, and saved me, a wanderer in sin.
Jesus Christ hath saved us, whom having crucified upon the cross by the hands of men, he hath stripped death of its power and raised him on the third day: we bow before his triune resurrection.
From the Archangel's hymn we take up the resurrection of Jesus Christ: for by Him is Saviour and Deliverer of our souls, and in greater glory and might doth He come again to judge the world, which He created.
Thee, who wast sung and buried, the Angel proclaimed to Thee, saying to the women: Come, see where He lay; for He is risen, as He said, being all-powerful. Therefore we prostrate ourselves before Thee, O Ever-living: Life-giver Jesus, have mercy on us.
By Thy holy Passion, Thou hast abolished the ancient curse of oaks; by Thy deathly burial, Thou hast vanquished the power of death: by Thy resurrection, Thou hast enlightened the human race. Therefore we cry to Thee: O Gracious One, Jesus Christ, glory be to Thee.
Verzoshasě thee, God, fear of death's gates, and having seen the awful gates of hell, thou didst awe: for with thee hast smitten the brass gates, and melted the iron bars, and led us forth from darkness and the chambers of death, and rent asunder our bonds.
Saviour's hymn we sing, from our lips: Come, let us enter into the house of our Lord, saying: Upon the ancient wood Thou wast crucified, and from the dead Thou didst raise, and in the depths of the bowels, Opurify our sins.
Glory, and now, O Theotokos:
