The bottomless pit of sins overcame me, and my spirit vanished: but stretch Thou Thy high might, O Master, and save me, as Peter was uplifted.
Infinite depth of mercy and goodness hath encompassed me, O Merciful One: having taken flesh, Thou didst abide in servitude for the sake of the image; and by Thyself glorifying, Thou didst redeem me, praising with Thee.
Death, O Death, wherein thou hast been slain; though thou hast been slain, O Death, thou hast seen the Resurrection of Him Who is quickened: these are thy images, and by Thy victorious might shall they overcome thee.
O Theotokos,
Praying, where Thou alone, Creator and Man, hast come forth by Thy own will, grant, O Lover of Mankind, that through the intercession of Thine sinful servants, we may be deliverers, and pray.

Irimos: Selēnía iōna.
By dawn thou didst tempt, O Incarnate One, the heavens-born, and by thy stripes we were healed. Therefore dost thou call: Exalt me from the mire of my life, O Lover of Mankind.
Thou dost open the gates of hell with fear, and the vessels of thy enemies thou dost exalt: therefore those women met thee, receiving joy instead of sorrow.

This hymn of that same one.
It is imagined concerning us, O God, that from immortal things, having the unseparable image of the Fainthearted One by becoming something temporal, man did not undergo corruption.
O Lord, and Thou Sea of Sins, and Storms of Passions, save me: for Thou art a Refuge, and Bottomless Pit of Wonders, to them that come unto Thee with Faith.
