Irimos:

Thou, O Lord, hast created man in Thine own image and after Thy likeness;
and Thou didst place him upon this earth as a stranger and a sojourner.
For the time is short, and life is but vanity; for all are of Thee,
and unto Thee shall all return.

Thou didst give us commandments, O Lord, that we should love Thee with all our heart
and mind, soul, and strength; and Thou didst command us to keep Thy holy precepts.
But we have fallen short, O Lord, in keeping these commandments;
for we are weak and prone to sin.

Therefore, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for Thou art full of compassion and long-suffering,
and Thou lovest man with an everlasting love. For it is written:

"Thou hast met him with judgment, but with lovingkindness hast Thou converted him."
And again: "He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; he that despiseth his way shall die."

Therefore, O Lord, have mercy upon us and forgive our transgressions,
for Thou art the God of forgiveness and the Saviour of sinners.
Thou art the Light of the world, and no man can come to the Father but by Thee.

Grant us, therefore, O Lord, to walk in Thy commandments and keep Thy holy precepts,
that we may be found worthy to stand before Thee on that day when Thou shalt judge the living and the dead.
For Thou art the Judge of all, and Thy judgment is just. Amen.

The bottomless pit of sins shall abide in me, and my spirit shall vanish away: but stretch forth Thy high might, O Master, that Thou mayst deliver me, as Thou didst Peter.

The bottomless depth of Thy mercies hath encompassed me, O God, by the blessed dream of Thy goodness: Thou hast been incarnate, and having been in the servitude of the image, Thou didst redeem us, glorifying Thee with Thyself.

Death, O Death, wherein thou hast been slain, having seen the Resurrection of Thee, these are Thy images, and Thy conqueror hath triumphed by Thy stripes.

The Theotokos:

Praying, where Thou alone art Creator and made man, surpassing all that goeth forth from thee, now for Thy suppliants who have fallen into transgression, beseech thou to be our avenger.

And He

Irimos: Selēninya.

By thy temptations, O Lover of Man, thou didst overcome the fallen angels in heaven. Therefore dost thou call to thee: Exalt me from this life, O Lover of Mankind.

Thou dost open the gates of hell with fear, and the vessels of thy enemies thou dost exalt: therefore those women met thee, receiving joy instead of sorrow.

And.

Therefore, let us also imitate Him in all things, that by His toil we may obtain rest for our souls.

It is imagined concerning us, O God, that from immortal things, having the unseparable image of the Facedone by being made a thing, man did not yield to corruption.

O sea of sins, and tempests of passions, preserve me: for thou art a refuge, and sea of wonders, unto them that come to thee with faith.
