Pray for us, O Lord, and for all men Thou art the Merciful Theotokos: by Thee, Master, in the presence of Thy holy Prince, O Father Thine, Thou didst bring them forth from the unknown night.
For as the cedar rejoiceth in honour, so hath the cypress and fir tree been shaken down by thy will: For as thou willest upon the cypress, and upon the pine, and upon the cedar, to be exalted in building.
In the grave, O Lord, Thou hast laid the lifeless dead: but by Thy Name Thou hast awakened with Thee those dead in their graves, and raised them to life.
O Theotokos,
Pray to Thee, O Lord, and to Thy Holy One, both of them reading, for us who seek peace the giving thereof, for those in captivity deliverance, from the obstinate standnings.
And He
Adam hath tasted the rejection of hell, eating of the deadly tree first: but this sin consumeth, causing the second to fall.
By the nature of man he was passioned and mortal, even He who was without passion in the divine immortality, unspeakably dead by the death of the body, from the depths of hell raised He Himself.
And Thee.
Airmós toíze.
Bless ye with the sweetness of your lips those who dwell upon the earth: For the Son of God hath descended from heaven and was incarnate for us.
By life and by my flesh Thou hast made light, and Thou hast broken the drudgery of sin: in the end Thou wast incarnate without seed from above.
