Pray for us, O Lord, and for all men Thou art the Intercessor: through Thee, Master, to the Prince of thy kingdom, in the night unknown, brought they came.
As the cedars are glorified,
So were the oaks brought low by Thy power, O Lord.
For Thou willed it thus on the cypresses, and on the pines, and on the cedars, that they might be exalted in building.
In the grave, O Lord, Thou hast laid the lifeless dead: but by Thy Name, Thou hast awakened the dead, who sleep in their graves, and hast raised them with Thee.
O Theotokos,
Pray to Thee, O Lord, and to Thy Holy One, both of them reading, for us who seek peace the giving thereof, for those in captivity deliverance, from the stubborn resistances.
And He
Adam hath tasted the deadly fruit of the first tree; but this sin doth consume him, waxing weak in the second.
By the nature of man he was passions-bearing and mortal, even He who is without passions in divine immortality, lifeless having been made by death, from the depths of hell raised by Thee.
And Thee, O Lord.
Bless ye the sweet savour, ye that are upon the earth: For the Son of God hath descended from heaven, who before the ages was with God.
By life and by my flesh Thou hast enlightened me, and Thou hast broken the drudgery of sin: in the end Thou didst descend without seed from on high.
