O Soul/Spirit, having tasted the sweetness of life, always yearning for it, suddenly and unexpectedly hastened by God's command, thou didst leave this transient world to receive the eternal life. Therefore, with compunction of heart, we cry out to thee:
"O Stranger in this creation, who wast led astray by deceit, now reveal to us the path of true righteousness and mercy! For thou art a spectacle to all, showing the glory of God's grace. Ever mindful of Thy heavenly Father, pray for us that we may find the way of salvation."
Thus, with one accord, we beseech thee: "O Lord Jesus Christ, our only hope in this life and beyond, grant us Thy mercy and guide us into the light of Thy divine glory."
O Lord, who bringest forth all things from that which is not, by Thy Word creating and making them, O Sovereign of all, in Thine love establish me.
By Thy holy Passion the impious is made to blush; for He hath smitten him, who had digged himself a pit, and he fell therein: but Thou exaltedst the humble with Thy risen Horn, O Christ.
With holy fear we proclaim this word, as water covered the sea with its love: for He arose from the grave, and by His resurrection opened the light.
O Theotokos,
Glory be to Thee, O City of the Living God, ever in Thy presence: for by Thee, O Lady, the very God Who is on earth hath been made to suffer.
And He saith:
Irimos: Luke hath smitten the enemy.
O sanctified one, Virgin of Idolis, thou hast been cleansed from impurities: for Jesus Christ, the Ever-Divine, stretched forth His hand upon thee.
Let all faithful receive the life-giving tomb, bowing before Thee: for in Thee didst Thou bury and raise up truly Jesus our Lord.
And Thee.

Staff of Jesse, pruned and blossoming twice, bearing fruit, saith to us: Holy art Thou, O Jesus Christ.
By the divine participation thou hast made earthly creatures to partake, O Lord, from thy very flesh; thou didst receive them as an inheritance: Thou art the Lord.
