Irimos:
Thou, O Lord, hast created man in Thine own image and after Thy likeness;
and didst place him upon this earth as a stranger and a sojourner.
For Thou didst say, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness."
And when he fell into sin, Thou didst not cast him away,
but didst send forth the Word of salvation to him through Thy only-begotten Son.
Thou didst give him life and breath that he might live;
and Thou didst grant him understanding and knowledge
that he might know Thee, O Lord, our God.
But man, being weak and sinful, turned away from Thee,
and in his pride and ignorance he sought to be like unto Thee.
Therefore, O Lord, Thou didst send forth Thy Holy Spirit upon the earth,
to enlighten the minds of men and to guide them into the way of righteousness.
And Thou didst give us the Law and the Prophets
that we might learn to know Thee and to walk in Thy commandments.
But even these were not sufficient for man's salvation;
for he is a creature, and his understanding is limited.
Therefore, O Lord, Thou didst send forth Thy only-begotten Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord, into the world,
that He might be the Light of the world and the Saviour of all men.
He came down from heaven to earth
and was born of the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit,
to redeem us from sin and death.
And when He had suffered and died upon the Cross for our sins,
Thou didst raise Him up on the third day, O Lord,
that we might have life through His resurrection.
Therefore, let us praise Thee, O Lord, our God,
for Thou art the Life of all things;
and let us pray to Thee that Thou wouldst grant us Thy mercy and forgiveness
and lead us into the way of righteousness and eternal life.
Blossomed hath the wilderness, as a spring, where erstwhile, by reason of its barrenness, the church, O Theotokos, through thy advent, hath established my heart therein.
Thy creation in Thy image doth change, beholding Thee in the lowly mirror of those ungodly, who have defiled all the world with their vain motions.
By Thy own hand didst Thou fashion me after the image: and again smitten in the breast by death for sin, Thou didst descend into hell, and didst raise up again.
O Theotokos,
Marvel at the angelic assembly in their awe, and fear human hearts with thy trembling: therefore do we reverence thee with faith.

Irimos:
Thou, O Lord, hast created man in Thine own image and after Thy likeness;
Thou didst breathe into him of Thy Holy Spirit,
And he became a living soul.
But when sin entered through the transgression of our first parents,
Man fell from his original estate and was cast down to earth.
Therefore, we pray Thee:
Grant us repentance and forgiveness of sins,
That we may be delivered from the power of the evil one
And restored unto Thy divine image.
Luke hath smitten the strong in their might with thy power, O Christ, and hast weakened them by thy strength.
Who of all the Highest, Thou Jesus Christ, wast made small by a body of flesh, stranger to Thy angelic nature.
Dead with the unrighteous didst Thou entwine, O Lord, adorning women with the crown of glory; Thou hast been glorified from the Resurrection.

Which time surpasseth all times, for by the Word of Time itself thou wast created by the will of God.

O most spacious belly of the heavenly, in which Adam rejoicing on high liveth.
