Irimos:
Thou, O Lord, hast created man in Thine own image and after Thy likeness;
and Thou didst place him upon this earth to be a steward of all things.
But he fell away from Thee through the deceit of the serpent,
and became a stranger to Thee, a captive to sin.
O Lord, have mercy!
Prospered hath the wilderness, as a spring, where erstwhile, by reason of its barrenness and desolation, the Church, now through thy advent, hath confirmed my heart within me.
Thy creation in Thy image doth change, beholding Thee in the lowly mirror of those ungodly, who have been transformed by the movement of divine grace.
By Thy own hand didst Thou fashion me after the image: and again smitten in the breast for sin, Thou didst descend into hell, and didst raise up again.
O Theotokos,
Wondrous are ye, O angels, in the glory of your countenances; and fearful are we men in our hearts before thy wrath: wherefore we worship thee with faith.
And the canon of the Cross-resurrection.
Irimos:
Thou, O Lord, hast created man in Thine own image and after Thy likeness;
and Thou didst bestow upon him life eternal,
that he might have dominion over all the works of Thine hands.
But because of sin, man hath fallen into death,
and his soul is made a prey to the enemy.
Thou, O Lord, hast shown mercy in the flesh of Thy Only-Begotten Son;
for He was crucified and died for our salvation,
and on the third day He rose again from the dead.
Through His resurrection, Thou didst grant unto us life eternal,
that we might have hope of everlasting glory.
Therefore, let us with compunction of heart give thanks to Thee,
O Lord, God of our fathers;
for Thou art good and lovest man,
and hast given him power over all things.
Luke hath smitten the strong in their might with thy power, O Theotokos, and hast weakened them by thy strength.
Who of all the Highest, Jesus Christ, hath humbled Himself to become something small by a bodily humiliation, O Angels of His nature.
Dead with the unrighteous dost thou partake, crowned with a wreath of glory by Thee, hast Thou been made alive from the dead.

And in the temple of the Lord, the Theotokos stood.

The irmos of this tone.
Which is above all times by the Word of Creator, for by Thee two creatures were created with Thy will.
O most spacious belly of the heavens, wherein Adam rejoiceth on high, liveth.
