By the hymnography of the penitential season, the first tone is sung:
Samopodoben:
Thy grave, O Warrior watchful, O dead ones by the overshadowing of the greater Angel were proclaimed to the women, declaring the Resurrection. We glorify Thee, O Desired One, we cleave unto Thee, O Risen from the grave, and with Thy Only God our King.

To the Crucifixion thou wast fastened by a free will, in the grave lying dead as a life-giver: with thy strength thou didst overcome death by thy own mighty death: for the gates of hell trembled before thee, and thou didst raise up from the age of the dead, being alone the lover of man.

O Theotokos,

Mother of Thee, our God, truly and in the Mystery of Thy Incarnation, and by the great mercy, whereunto thou hast rung to Thee with love: for Thou art our intercessor, O most merciful; and Thou hast stayed me in perils, O pure one.

By the sticheron, on weekdays, tone 1.

Likewise: Stones Sealed:

Wommen came to the grave with fear, and an angelic vision appeared in trembling: the grave is life, a wonder to behold: for having gone forth with the teaching of the preacher, resurrection arose; hell has freed Christ, for it is strong and mighty, and having weakened all, it cast down fear, breaking it with its sword.

On the Cross Thou hast pierced the life of all, and in the dead Thou hast made the Immortal manifest; on the third day Thou didst rise for our salvation, raising Adam from corruption. For this we cry to Thee with might, O Giver of Life, Jesus Christ: glory to Thy resurrection, glory to Thy descent, O most loving of mankind.

Theotokos. It is fitting: Thy grave hath saved us.

Blessed be the Reader, O Master of Readers, who hath raised up unto life them that had fallen into the deep pit of fierce wrath and excessive grief; for thou art, O Lord, the salvation of sinners and help in time of trouble, the strong intercession, and deliverest thy servants.

Pakoi, glas a:

Viknia poimanněie raja sličnosti, plachy gi moironosici radost vvesti, gí kak voskresli jesi Khriste, podaj mirovi velju mili.
Stepeňny:

When I am in sorrow, hear my sickness, O Lord; to Thee, O Lord, do I cry.

The deserts, unceasingly, have a divine longing, bringing peace to the sensible, except for the senseless.

Glory and honour to Thee, O Spirit, as is meet, and to Thy Mother also, for this sake let us sing to Thee the hymn of unity.

Antiphon v.:

Upon thy hills, O Lord, hast Thou uplifted me, enlightening Thee with virtues, that I may praise Thee.

With Thy right hand Thou hast received the Word; preserve me, keep me, that sin's flame may not fall upon me.

With the Holy Spirit all creation is renewed, again flowing back to the first: for equal is He to the Word and the Father.

Antiphon gá:

O Lord, having said to me, "Enter into the courts of My people," my spirit rejoiceth, and my heart is glad.

In the house of the double doors great fear: there in the throne placed, the nations and tongues are judged.

Glory, honor, worship, and might to the Holy Spirit, as is meet and right to offer: for there is none other essence, but faces alone.
