By the psalmody of the penitential season, the first tone:
Samopodobny:
Thy grave, O Warrior watchful, O dead ones by the overshadowing of the greater Angel were proclaimed to the women, declaring the Resurrection. We glorify Thee, O Thou who wast sought for, we fall down before Thee, risen from the grave, and unto Thy Only God.

To the Crucifixion thou wast fastened by a generous will, laid in the grave having been found dead, O life-giver; thou didst utterly overcome death with thy mighty death-struggle: for the gates of hell trembled before thee, thou who wast raised from the age of the dead, as the only lover of mankind.

O Theotokos,

The Theotokos, our All-holy Queen, truly is the refuge of all in very truth; and having taken us up in her prayer, she who loveth with true love those who flee to thy mercy: for I have become thy intercessor, O Most Merciful, and have found thee a Saviour in my distresses, alone blameless.

By the sticheron, let us sing, Gloria.

As it is written: "Like a stone sealed."

Widows came to the tomb, and an angelic vision appeared with trembling: the tomb was life, a wonder to behold: for this reason, having gone forth as preachers of resurrection: hell freed Christ, for it is one and strong, and having weakened all, raised them up, casting fear aside with His might.

On the Cross Thou wast pierced, O Life of all life, and in the dead Thou didst place the Immortal Lord; on the third day Thou didst rise for our salvation, raising Adam from corruption. For this we cry to Thee with mighty voice, O Giver of Life, Jesus Christ: Glory to Thy Resurrection, glory to Thy Descent, only Lover of mankind.

Theotokos. It is fitting: Thy grave hath saved us.

O Lord, read, O Reader of hearts, Thou hast raised up those fallen into the deep pit of fierce ancestral sin, and by thy transgressions and sorrows. For thou art the salvation of the guilty and the strength, the intercessor, and thou dost save Thy servants.

Thief's repentance in paradise joy, weep thou bearer of myrrh glad tidings, for having risen Thou O Christ, giving to the world great mercy.
Stepienny:

When sorrow afflicteth me, hear my sickness, O Lord; to Thee do I cry.

The desert-dweller hath an unceasing holy desire, bringing peace to the sensible apart from the senseless.

To Thee, O Spirit, glory and praise be meet, even as to Thee, O Christ, for so it behooveth, and to Thee, O Theotokos, we magnify thee, for this cause let us sing to Thee a hymn of unity.

Antiphon v.:

Upon thy mountains, O Lord, hast Thou uplifted me, enlightening Thee with good works, that I may praise Thee.

By Thy right hand Thou hast received the Word; preserve me, keep me, that sin's fire may not fall upon me.

By Thee, O Spirit, every creature is renewed, again flowing unto the first: for Thou art equal in power and in word with the Father.

Thou hast said to me, "Enter into the courts of the Lord," my spirit rejoiceth, and my heart is glad.

In the house of the double doors great fear: there, in the judgment seat placed, are judged all the peoples of the earth and their tongues.

Glory, honor, reverence, and might to the Holy Spirit, as is meet and right to offer: for there is none other essence, but faces alone.
