Thy grave, O Warrior watchful, O dead ones by the descent of the great Angel were proclaimed to the women the Resurrection. We glorify Thee, O Thou who wast sought for, we fall down before Thee, risen from the grave, and unto Thy only God we pray.
To the Crucifixion Thou wast fastened by a generous will, laid in the tomb having been found dead, O life-giver, overcome by Thy mighty death: for the gates of hell did quake before Thee, Thou didst raise up from the age of the departed, as the only Lover of mankind.
O Theotokos,
Mother of Thee, our Lady most pure in very truth, and by the power of Thy intercession, O ever-blessed, to Whom lovingly doth flee every sinner unto Thy mercy: for Thou, O Lover of sinners, hast stood as our advocate in times of tribulation, and hast preserved us with Thine unspotted purity.
According to the sticheron, solemnly, the first tone.
Vospersmejúshcha se: Kameni zapetjanu:
Widows to the grave came with sorrow, and an angelic vision of trembling: the grave is life, a wonder to behold: for this sake, having gone forth with the teaching of the Teacher, resurrection arose: hell freed Christ, for it is one strong and mighty, and having weakened all, cast down fear by its might.
On the Cross Thou hast pierced the life of all, and in the dead Thou hast made alive the Immortal Lord: on the third day Thou didst rise for our salvation, raising Adam from corruption. For this we cry to Thee with power, O Life-giving One, Theotokos: glory to Thy resurrection, glory to Thy descent, O Only Lover of Mankind.
Theotokos. It is fitting: Thy grave hath saved us.
O Lord, read, O Reader of hearts, Thou hast raised up those fallen into the deep pit of fierce ancestral sin, and by thy great griefs and sorrows. For thou art the forgiveness of sins and help, the strong intercession, and thou dost save Thy servants.
Repentance in the realm of robbery bringeth joy, O myrrh-bearer, proclaim thou gladness, for having risen, Thou hast brought the King into Thy midst, giving alms with a great heart.
When I am in sorrow, hear my sickness, O Lord; to Thee, O Lord, do I cry.
The desert-dweller hath an unceasing holy desire, bringing confusion to the senseless among them.
Glory and praise to Thee, O Spirit, as is meet, and to Thy Mother also, for this we sing the hymn of the Monarchy.
Antiphon v.:
Upon thy mountains, O Lord, thou hast lifted me up with thy laws; by thy virtues thou hast enlightened the Theotokos, that I may praise thee.
By Thy right hand, receive my words, preserve me, keep me, that the fire of sin may not overthrow me.
By Thy Spirit is renewed every creature, flowing again into the first: for equal is He to the Word and to the Father.
Antiphon gá:
Thou hast said to me, "Enter into the courts of the Lord," my spirit rejoiceth, and my heart gladdeneth.
In the house of the double doors great fear: there, in the judgment seat placed, all nations and tongues are judged.
Glory, honor, reverence, and might to the Spirit, even as is meet for God, and ever fitting to offer: for there is but one essence by nature, but not persons.
