On the hymns of praise, stichera are sung, glas 1.
Come ye all, understand the fearful mysteries of power: for Jesus Christ our Saviour, by Whom at the beginning was the Word, was crucified for us of His own will, and was buried, and rose again from the dead, whereby He conquered every creature: to Him we shall bow.
Rejoicing hath been fulfilled in all by the Resurrection and temptation received: for Mary Magdalene came to the tomb, and found an angel sitting upon the stone, shining with raiment and saying: What seek ye among the dead? He is not here, but is risen, as he spake, before you in Galilee.
In Thy light, O Master, we shall see the light of loving-kindness: Thou hast risen from the dead, and hast given to the race of man the gift of salvation; that all Thy creatures may glorify Thee alone, blameless, and have mercy on us.
Aassage of Dawn to the Myrrh-Bearing Women with Tears They Brought Thee, O Blessed One, Thy precious spices and ointments; they reached even unto Thy tomb, striving to anoint Thy holy body. An angel sitteth upon the stone and preacheth: What seek ye among the dead? For death hath been overcome by God, He hath given to all great mercy.
Shining angels at thy tomb, O Life-Creator, to the myrrh-bearers spake: Having exhausted the graves, Deliverer from the bonds of hell, and having raised thee triennially, for thou art one God and all-powerful.
In the sepulcher thou didst seek Him, having come on the Lord's Day, Mary Magdalene, and finding not, wept with a loud cry: "Woe is me, my Saviour! All the treasures of the King were robbed." And the angel of life within the sepulcher cried out: "Why weepest thou, woman? Weep not, for He who took thee from the sepulcher, knowest not where He laid Him." Turning herself to go, seeing her, she cried out: "My Lord and my God! Glory be to Thee."
The Jews placed life in the grave, but the robber from afar with his tongue enjoyed delight, crying and saying: "With thee shall I go down to the pit? With thee my soul will be satisfied on the bier, sitting at thy feet: for thou art he, O Jesus Christ, who hast great mercy."
