On the hymns of praise, stichera are sung, glas 1.

Come ye all, understand the fearful mysteries of power: for Jesus Christ our Saviour, by Whom at the beginning was the Word, was crucified for us of His own will, and was buried, and rose again from the dead, whereby He conquered all creation; to Him we shall bow.

All joy and gladness hast been fulfilled in the Resurrection; the temptation hath received its due: Mary Magdalene cometh to the tomb, and findeth an angel sitting upon the stone, shining with raiment and saying: What seek ye among the dead? He is not here, but is risen, as he spake, foretelling it beforehand in Galilee.

In Thy light, O Master, we behold the light of loving-kindness: Thou hast risen from the dead, and by Thy salvation hast given to the race of man a gift; that all Thy creatures may glorify Thee alone, blameless, and have mercy on us.

Psalm for the Morning Offering of Myrrh-Bearing Women with Tears Thou didst bring to Thee, O Blessed One, with precious spices, weeping, having borne myrrh, and they reached Thy grave, striving to anoint Thine holy body. An angel sitteth upon the stone and preacheth: What seek ye among the dead? For death hath been overcome by God, He giving unto all great mercy.

Shining forth upon thy grave, O Life-Creator, the Myrrh-bearers spake: Having exhausted the graves, O Deliverer from the bonds of hell, and having raised thee triennially, for thou art one God and all-powerful.

In the tomb sought she, having come on the Lord's Day, Mary Magdalene, and finding not, wept with a loud cry: "Woe to me! Wilt Thou forsake me? Thou wast adorned with all the glory of the King." Then within the tomb an angel cried out: "Why weepest thou, woman?" And he said: "Weep not; for if thou hast taken away from the tomb Him whom thou soughtest, I know not where they laid Him." Turning herself around, seeing her, she cried out: "My Lord and my God! Glory be to Thee."

The Jews placed life in the grave, but the robber from afar enjoyed speech with a tongue of delight, calling and saying: "With me, why hast Thou not perished? Upon the wood I have been made fast, and on the cross I sit with the Father: for He is Jesus Christ our Lord, having power over great mercy."
