On the hymns of praise, psalms are sung, voice 1.

Come ye all, understand the fearful mysteries of power: for Jesus Christ our Saviour, by Whom at the beginning was the Word, was crucified for us of His own will, and was buried, and rose again from the dead, whereby He conquered all creation; to Him we shall bow.

All joy and gladness hast been fulfilled in the Resurrection; the temptation hath received its full measure: for Mary Magdalene came to the tomb, and found an angel sitting upon the stone, shining with raiment and saying: What seek ye among the dead? He is not here, but is risen, as He said, before you in Galilee.

In Thy light, O Master, we shall see the light of loving-kindness: Thou hast risen from the dead, and hast given to the race of mankind the gift of salvation; that all Thy creatures may glorify Thee alone, guiltless One, have mercy on us.

Thou didst bring unto Thee, O Blessed One, an early-morning offering with tears, bearing precious ointments; having reached Thy holy sepulcher, Thou didst earnestly anoint the pure Body Thine. And the angel sitteth upon the stone and preacheth: What seek ye among the dead? For death hath been overcome by God, and He giveth to all great mercy.

Shining forth upon thy tomb, O Life-Creator, the Myrrh-bearers spake: Having exhausted the graves, O Liberator from the bonds of hell, and having risen on the third day, for thou art alone all-powerful.

In the tomb sought she, having come on the Lord's Day, Mary Magdalene, and finding not, wept with a loud cry: "Woe to me! Wilt Thou forsake me? All the treasures of the King were robbed. But the living Angel within the tomb cried out: Why dost thou weep, O woman? Weep not, for saying that Thou hast taken away from the tomb my Lord and knowest not where Thou laid Him." Turning herself about, seeing her, the Lord said to her: "My flesh and my Bride, glory be to Thee."

The Jews placed life in the grave, but the robber from afar with his tongue enjoyed delight, crying and saying: "With thee shall I go down to the pit? Together with thee shall we be upon the dung-hill, sitting together." For thus is He, Jesus Christ our God, who hath great mercy.
