On the hymns of praise, the psalms are sung, gladsome voice of the Lord.
Come ye all, understand the fearful mysteries of power: for Jesus Christ our Saviour, by Whom at the beginning was the Word, was crucified for us of His own will, and was buried, and rose again from the dead, whereby He conquered all creation; to Him we shall bow down.
Spake all thy wonders, O Guardian Angels of the Lord: but the congregation fulfilled their measure with the power of their right hand, concealing from me Thy Resurrection, wherefore the world glorifieth it: have mercy on us.
All joy and gladness hast thou fulfilled through the Resurrection; the temptation ye have received: for Mary Magdalene came to the tomb, and found an angel sitting on the stone, shining in raiment and saying: What seek ye among the dead? He is not here, but has risen, as he said, before you in Galilee.
In Thy light, O Master, we shall see the light of loving-kindness: Thou hast risen from the dead, and hast given to the race of man the gift of salvation; that all Thy creatures may glorify Thee alone, guiltless One, have mercy on us.
A Morning Hymn of the Myrrh-Bearing Women Bringing Tears to Thee, O Blessed One, bearing with them spices and precious ointments, they have reached the tomb of Thine, striving to anoint Thy pure body. An angel sitting on the stone doth proclaim: "What seek ye among the dead? For death hath been overcome by God, He having given unto all a great mercy."
Shining angels at thy tomb, O Life-Creator, to the myrrh-bearers spake: Having exhausted the graves, O Deliverer from the bonds of hell, and having raised thee triennially, for thou art one God and all-powerful.
In the tomb sought she, having come on the Lord's Day, Mary Magdalene, and finding not, wept with a loud cry: "Woe to me! Woe to me! For Thou hast taken away my Lord!" The angel of life within the tomb cried out: "Why dost thou weep?" He saith, "Because I have taken Him from the tomb, and know not where I laid Him." Turning herself around, seeing her, she cried out: "My Lord and my God! Glory to Thee!"
The Jews placed life in the grave, but the robber from afar enjoyed the language of delight, calling and saying: "With whom shall I go to be crucified with Thee? Let us sit down together on the wood, and recline at table with Thy Father." For this is He, Jesus Christ, Who hath great mercy.
