Merciful Lord, have mercy on us: for all of us are unwise in the folly of death, and by Thy gracious intercession we offer this prayer as sinners: have mercy on us.
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.
O Lord, have mercy on us, for in thee we have trusted: let not thy wrath light upon us, nor count our transgressions against us; but look upon us now with a favorable eye, and deliver us from our enemies: thou art God our King, and we are thy people, all our works are by thy hand, and to thee we cry.
And now and for ever. Amen.
Mercy openeth the doors of salvation to us, O Blessed Theotokos: trusting in thee let us not perish, but be delivered by thee from calamities: for thou art the Saviour of the race of Christians.

For Thine is the kingdom, and power, and glory, Father, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

O All-Ruling One, Word of the Most High, most perfect in Thyself, O Jesus Christ, Thou Who art God and our Savior, never have I sought to fight against Thee, servant though I am; but ever within me abide. And as Good Shepherd of Thine own flocks, do not deliver me into the hands of those who would corrupt me, nor suffer Satan to abide with me, for indeed he dwells in seven within me.
Thou art invoked by the Lord, O Holy Theotokos, and in Thy sleep Thou dost preserve me with an unquenchable light, in Thine holy home, where Thou didst rest as Thy Mother's Teacher. Give also to me, unworthy servant of Thee, peace upon my bed: enlighten my soul with the light of Thy wisdom, love my spirit with Thy love, and with Thy words, O Lord, soften my heart, and with Thine unsparing strength make my body passionless: preserve my thoughts by Thy humility, and raise me up in time to join in Thy glorious hymns for ever. Amen.

O Lord, heavenly King, Comforter, O Spirit of Truth, Thou hast shown Thyself merciful, and hast pitied me, the sinful servant of Thine; and Thou hast humbled me unworthy, and Thou hast forgiven all my transgressions, even as I have sinned today, more than a man, yea, worse than an animal: both voluntary and involuntary sins, known and unknown, from youth to old age, and from ignorance. Yea, in name of Thine have I blasphemed Thee, and have cursed in my thoughts; and I have grieved, and I have offended, and I have been angry, and I have sinned by word and deed: yea, I have despised the poor who came to me, and I have slighted him. And I have grieved my brother, and I have wronged my bride, and I have judged some; and I have quarreled, and I have grown proud, and I have been angry; and when standing before Thee in prayer, by my own wickedness of this world I was moved: yea, evil thoughts, and I have sinned by confession, and I have lied, and I have labored without purpose: yea, the needy came to me, and I despised him: and I have grieved my brother, and I have wronged my bride, and I have judged some; and I have quarreled, and I have grown proud, and I have been angry; and when standing before Thee in prayer, by my own wickedness of this world I was moved: yea, evil thoughts, and I have sinned by confession, and I have lied, and I have labored without purpose: yea, I have laughed at that which is not fitting. And I have had evil thoughts, and I have seen righteousness as strange to me, and thereby I was pierced in heart: yea, unseemly words have I spoken, and I have mocked my brother’s sin, for mine own part, and these are countless my transgressions: yea, I have not labored in prayer, and I know not what else evil I have done. For all these and greater than these have I sinned. Have mercy on me, O Creator of my soul, Thou Who art unworthy before Thee: and leave me not, and forgive me, for Thou art good and Lover of mankind: that I may lie down in peace, sleep and rest, the penitent, sinful and weeping I am; and I will prostrate myself, and I will praise and glorify Thy most holy Name, with Thee, and Thy only-begotten Son, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

What hast thou brought, O thou great-gifted immortal King, most bountiful and loving of souls; for having been idle in thy desire, and doing nothing good, thou hast led me to the end of this day's journey, turning and saving my soul. Be mindful of my sinfulness, O Thou uncovered in all thy deeds: raise up my fallen soul, defiled by countless sins, and let all my thoughts be openly visible in this life. Forgive my transgressions, only sinless One; for I have sinned today both knowingly and unknowingly, by word, deed, thought, and all my feelings. Thou Thyself coverest me from every opposing resistance with Thine ineffable love and power. Cleanse, O Lord, the multitude of my sins. Willingly grant me deliverance from the nets of the crafty one, save my sinful soul, and enlighten me with the light of Thy face: when Thou comest in glory. And let not my sleep be unawares this night; and let not my thoughts be unguarded: and keep the servant of Thine unsullied: and utterly destroy all the works of Satan from me: and enlighten our understanding hearts, that we may not fall into death. Send us an angel of peace, guardian and instructor of soul and body, that he may deliver me from my enemies: when I arise with Thee, let me offer thee thanksgiving prayers. O Lord, hear the sinful and blessed servant of Thine, by Thy will and conscience: give me to learn by thy words, and drive far away the evil spirits from me: and bless Thou my standing, and praise and glorify the most holy Theotokos, who gave us sinners a propitiatory sacrifice, and receive this praying one for us: for we know that Thy lovingkindness doth not cease, and I pray continually. By this propitiatory sacrifice, and by this sign of thy cross, and all thy saints' prayers, keep Thou my holy soul with Thee our: for thou art, and art glorified to the ages. Amen.
