O troparion, tone 3:

Grant, O Lord, to Thy servant the gift of fearlessness,
That I may not be afraid in any time or place.
For Thou art my God and my salvation;
Thou art my hope and my strength.

Through Thee, O Christ, let us be saved! Amen.

Blessed Pastor, Thou hast laid Thy Soul upon us, O most hidden and wrought by Thee, alone nearest, have mercy on me, who am wandering in my understanding, and deliver me from the wolf, the lamb of God, and forgive me.

O deep sleep of spiritual deception, darkening with the guile of sins: but grant me morning of repentance, enlightening my thoughts, O Holy Theotokos, enlightenment of my soul, and save me.

By the mist of sins and by the sweetness of worldly joys we entwine our own souls, giving birth to various passions, and compunction does not come to their thoughts. But still, O Saviour, my humility, and grant me thoughts of compunction, that I may be saved before the end by thy blessed womb: O Lord, save me, the long-awaited and unworthy one.

As I fell among robbers, and was wounded, even so I fell into many sins, and my soul is grieved. To whom shall the guilty one flee? Only to Thee, O Merciful One: heal me, O great Physician of souls.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.

O wayward son, I have come and am yet merciful: receive me, O Mother, having returned, for I am but one of thy hired servants.

And now and for ever. Amen.

Deliver us, O Theotokos, from those who uphold sins against us: for even if some of the faithful do not have it, yet from Thee and by Thee was God born.

Lord, have mercy. [Thou.] And of bowings and prostrations, with humility:

Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner, and forgive me for my wandering after Thee, Thy holy abode.

Mercy of the holy basil of great stature:

Again I have fallen into the nets of weeping and deceitful custom, working in sin. Again I am a prince of darkness and father of passions, having been made captive by him. And as a humble servant, according to his will and desire, he compels me to work against my will. And what do I do, O my Lord and Saviour, and my helper for those who hope in thee? Yet I fear and tremble lest, like always, I confess again, and fail to receive the promises thou hast given, and sin at every hour: and not giving thee, O my God, the prayer of my soul, thy long-suffering raises up against wrath. And who can endure thine anger, O Lord? For thou knowest the multitude of thy mercies, and the power of thy lovingkindness; again I turn to thee in prayer, crying out: "For all that I have sinned, forgive me." Have mercy on me, fallen one, give me a hand of help, plunged into the sweetnesses of the mire. Do not abandon, O my Creator, lest I be destroyed by my own sins and my own iniquities; but by thy customary mercies and goodness, compel me to avoid uncleanness and evil thoughts, which defile always my heart that is weeping. For indeed, O Lord, as thou hast seen, there is no place of purity within it, but all manner of filthiness, and the whole body is covered with sores. Thou, O Lover of mankind, physician of soul and body, and source of prayer, cleanse thy tears flowing upon me in abundance: pour out on me thy lovingkindness, and give me healing and cleansing, and heal my fainting, and do not turn away thy face from me, lest I be consumed by the fire of contempt. But as thou hast said, O true God, as joy comes to those who confess one sin, so also upon me, and open not thy blessed treasury against me in prayer, but answer them, and like a reed, correct them before thee: for the weakness of nature is to the Creator, and the desire of youth, and the heaviness of body, thou despisest sins, and receivest repentance from those who call upon thee with truth. Again blessed art thou, O Lord, and praised be thy glorious name now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Multiform, unwearying, unsinful, holy Lord, cleanse me, Thy unworthy servant, from all sinfulness of body and soul, and from negligence and inattention that have come to me today, together with all my other sins. May I be found unsinful by Thee for the goodness of Jesus Christ, and may I abide in Thy presence: that I may arise from the darkness of unclean visions of the devil, and from all sinfulness, and be able to offer a pure conscience against my own uncleanness and unrighteousness, and to praise Thee, O Father, and Thee, O Son, and Thee, Holy Spirit, now and ever, and for ever. Amen.

Lord God, our Judge, who hast sinned today in word, deed and thought, forgive us. Peace and unending rest grant me, O guardian angel sent to watch over me, covering and keeping me from all evil: for thou art the guardian of our souls and bodies, and unto thee we send glory, Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy, O venerable John the Golden-mouthed:

Lord, do not deprive me of Thy heavenly blessings. Lord, deliver me from eternal torments. Lord, by thought and word and deed I have sinned, forgive me. Lord, deliver me from all unknown, forgotten, foolish, and hardened sins. Lord, deliver me from every temptation. Lord, enlighten my heart which is darkened by the deceitful lusts. Lord, as a man I have sinned, but Thou, O God, being merciful, forgive me, seeing the weakness of my soul. Lord, send Thy grace to help me, that I may glorify Thee with my lips. Lord, O holy Theotokos, write me, Thy servant, in the book of life, and grant me a good end. Lord, my God, though I have done nothing good before Thee, yet by Thy grace let me begin to do good. Lord, pour Thy grace upon my heart. Lord, all earth and heaven, remember me, O sinful servant, learner, and unclean, in Thy holy presence. Amen.

Lord, in my prayer receive me. Lord, do not forsake me. Lord, lead me not into temptation. Lord, give me a good thought. Lord, give me tears, and remembrance of mortality, and compunction. Lord, give me understanding and confession of my sins. Lord, give me humility, integrity, and obedience. Lord, give me patience, great-heartedness, and meekness. Lord, implant in me the root of goodness, thy fear in my heart. Lord, enable me to love thee from all my soul and thoughts, and to do whatsoever thy will is. Lord, cover me from men some, and from demons, and passions, and all manner of unseemly things. Lord, as thou hast wrought, even as thou wilt, let thy will be done in me the sinful: for blessed art thou for ever. Amen.

O Lady, Theotokos, with Thy mighty and all-powerful prayers, join Thou me to the humility and repentance of Thy servant, this sinner, forgetting me, senseless, careless, and all my foul thoughts, both wicked and shameful, from his heart, and from the darkness within me. And quench the flame of my passions, for I am poor and have repented: and deliver me from many and fierce remembrances, and from all evil designs, and free me from all heard deeds.

For Thou art blessed by all peoples, and Thy name is glorified most truly for ages of ages. Amen.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Father, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord, have mercy. [Three times.]

O Lord Jesus Christ, God, have mercy on me, a sinner, for Thy precious blood and for all saints.

O Lord, from the profanation:

Hear my prayer, O God, and let Thy mercy come to me; for I am weak and full of sins. Let not my soul be consumed with sorrow, but grant me repentance and forgiveness.

For Thou art merciful, O Lord, and hast compassion on all who call upon Thee. Grant me the gift of compunction of heart, that I may weep over my transgressions and turn to Thee in true humility.

Thou art the Creator of all things, O Lord, and hast given us life that we might glorify Thee. But we have strayed from Thy commandments and become a spectacle to the world. Restore me, O Lord, to the path of righteousness and grant me the grace to serve Thee with all my heart.

For Thou art the King of glory, O Christ, and hast taken upon Thee our infirmities that we might be made whole. Grant us, therefore, Thy mercy and forgiveness, that we may find rest in Thee.

Amen.

O Lord our God, the only-begotten and lover of mankind, the only holy and resting in holiness, who by thy apostle Peter didst reveal thyself with a glorious vision, let nothing unclean or impure be thought of that which thou hast created for food and for man's enjoyment, and as a vessel chosen, through the apostle Paul, having commanded all things pure by thy purity: Thou Thyself art holy, calling to Thee by the fearful and most pre-eminent name of Thine, and by the sign and life-giving seal of Thy precious and living Cross, bless and cleanse Thy servant [and disciple], who hath defiled himself from every unclean spirit, and from every dream and vision of deceit, from every sin and all guile, from every yielding to it and from every vanity, and from every sickness, and from every evil spirit. And from every opposition to the sweetness of thy will, O Lord.

Now, this unworthy servant [and disciple] of Thine, be thou pleased to allow me to serve Thy most holy mysteries. Before cleansing my soul and body from all uncleanness, forgive every sin, voluntary or involuntary, which I have committed in all days of my life, by deed, word, and thought, day and night, until now.

Grant me, O Lord, the service of these fearful heavenly powers, and partake of Thy most holy mysteries not for judgment or condemnation, but for the forgiveness of sins, and for the coming of Thy eternal age, wherein Thou didst prepare me as a true servant. Keep me, O all-powerful Lord, from every sin and sorrow, keep me undefiled and unblemished from every disease by the contrary devices of the devil: and grant me, O Lord, to serve Thee in humility and truth until my last day and hour, for Thou art blessed and glorified, O God our Lord, to Thee be glory with Thy Father and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

For sin, and for which reason there cometh spiritual temptation in sleep:

To judge sincerely and to judge thy brother who is in great sin: this also is sinful. From high-mindedness and pride, this too is sinful. From many days and feasts, it is fitting; from nature without movement and without thought, it flows forth, as doth also excess: from the weakness of the bodily, and some sicknesses: from the devilish envy. Wherefore, though they be without sin, yet both are called foul.
