O troparion, tone 3:

Grant, O Lord, to Thy servant the gift of repentance,
that he may confess his transgressions and be healed.
For Thou art good, loving-kindness is Thine essence,
and by Thine own will Thou hast mercy on all who call upon Thee.

Blessed Pastor, Thou who hast laid Thy Soul upon us, O most hidden and precious, co-mixed by me, ever nighest, forgive me the mind that hath wandered astray, and deliver me from the wolf, the sheep of Thy own fold, and have mercy on me.

O deep sleep of spiritual deception, darkening by sin: but grant me morning of repentance, enlightening my thoughts, O Theotokos, enlightenment of my soul, and save me.

By the mist of sins and the sweetness of worldly delights we entwine our own souls, giving birth to various passions, and compunction does not come to their thoughts. But still, O Saviour, my humility, and grant me thoughts of compunction, that I may be saved before the end by thy blessed prayer: O Lord, save me, the long-suffering and unworthy one.

Let me fall among robbers, and be wounded, as I also fell into many sins, and my soul is wounded. To whom shall I flee for refuge? Only to Thee, O Merciful One: have mercy on me, O great in mercy.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.

Alas, wayward son, I have come and am yet merciful: receive me, O Soul, returning, for I am but of the hirelings of thy household, and have compassion on me.

And now and for ever. Amen.

Save us, O Theotokos, from those who hold us in sin: for even if some of the faithful do not have confidence, yet through thee and by thy birth, O Lady, we are born of the Lord.

Lord, have mercy. [Thou.] And of bowings and prostrations, with meekness:

Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner, and forgive me for my wandering after Thee, Thy holy abode.

Mercy of the holy basil of great stature:

Again I have fallen into the nets of sorrow and sin, working iniquity. Again I am a prince of darkness and the father of passions, having been made captive by him. And as a humble servant, he compels me according to his will and desire to work iniquity. What do I do, O my Lord and Saviour, and my helper, who standeth for those that call upon thee? Yet I fear and tremble lest, like always, I confess not, and fail the promises thou hast given, and sin at every hour: and not giving thee, O my God, the prayer of my soul, thy long-suffering riseth to indignation. Who can endure thine anger, O Lord? Forthwith I see the multitude of thy mercies, and the flood of thy human love, again turning myself to thy prayer, and crying out to thee: "Whereas I have sinned, forgive me." Have mercy on me, fallen one, give me a hand of help in the depths of sweet delights. Do not leave, O my creation, lest I be corrupted by my own sins and iniquities; but by thy customary mercy and goodness, compel me to avoid uncleanness and sinful thoughts, defiling always my soul, which is sorrowed: for indeed, O Lord, as thou hast seen, there is no place of purity in it, but all are offenses, and the whole body is covered with wounds. Thou, O Lover of mankind, physician of souls and bodies, and source of prayer, cleanse thy tears to flow upon me beneficially; pour out on me thy human love, and give me healing and cleansing, and heal my fainting, and do not turn away thy face from me, lest I be consumed by the fire: but as thou hast said, true God, as joy cometh to those that are penitent for one sin, so also upon me, and open not with thy good womb against me in prayer, but answer them, and like a reed make right before thee. For the weakness of nature is to the Creator, and the desire of youth, and the weight of body, thou despisest sins, and receivest confession from those that call upon thee in truth. Again blessed art thou, O Lord, and praised be thy glorious name now and always and for evermore. Amen.

Multiform, uncorrupted, unsullied, sinless Lord, cleanse me, Thy unworthy servant, from all bodily and spiritual uncleanness, and from negligence and inattention that have come to me today, together with all my other lawlessnesses. Keep me unsullied, for the goodness of Thy Christ, and preserve me by Thy presence: that I may arise from the darkness of unclean visions, and be able to confess with a pure conscience my uncleanness and impurity, and sing praises to Thee, O Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Lord our God, who have sinned today in word, deed, and thought, forgive us because Thou art a God of love and mercy. Give me rest and peace, O guardian angel sent to watch over me, covering and keeping me from all evil: for Thou art the Guardian of our souls and bodies, and unto Thee we send glory, Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy, O Lady Joanna the Golden-Throated:

Lord, do not deprive me of Thy heavenly blessings. Lord, deliver me from eternal torments. Lord, by thought and word, by deed, I have sinned; forgive me. Lord, deliver me from all unknown, forgotten, foolish, and hardened in senselessness. Lord, deliver me from every temptation. Lord, enlighten my heart, which is darkened by the deceitful desire. Lord, as a man I have sinned, but Thou, O God, being merciful, forgive me, seeing the weakness of my soul. Lord, send Thy mercy to help me, that I may glorify Thee with my lips. Lord, O holy Theotokos, write me, Thy servant, in the book of life, and grant me a good end. Lord, my God, though I have done nothing good before Thee, yet by Thy grace, let me begin to do good. Lord, pour Thy grace upon my heart. Lord, all earth and heaven, remember me, O sinful servant, learner, and unclean, in Thy holy presence. Amen.

Lord, in my prayer receive me. Lord, do not forsake me. Lord, lead me not into temptation. Lord, give me a mind for good. Lord, give me tears and the memory of mortality, and compunction. Lord, give me thought and confession of my sins. Lord, give me humility, integrity, and obedience. Lord, give me patience, great-heartedness, and meekness. Lord, implant in me the root of goodness, thy fear in my heart. Lord, enable me to love thee from all my soul and thoughts, and to do whatsoever thy will is. Lord, cover me from men some, and demons, and passions, and all manner of unseemly things. Lord, as thou hast wrought, so also let it be done in me the sinner: for blessed art thou for ever. Amen.

O Lady, Theotokos, with thy all-powerful and prayerful intercessions, cleanse me, Thy servant, from the humility, compunction, senselessness, inattention, and all filthiness of thought, from the thoughts of my heart, and from the darkness of my mind. And quench the flame of my passions, for I am poor and have been made penitent: and deliver me from many and bitter memories, and from plots, and from all heard deeds. For Thou art blessed by all peoples, and Thy name is glorified most truly to the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, God, for Thy precious and holy name's sake, and for the sake of all Thy saints, save me, a sinner.

O Lord, from the defilement of sin, cleanse Thou my soul and body, that I may serve Thee in purity and holiness. Amen.

Through Thy mercy, O Lord, purify me from all uncleanness, both inward and outward, that I may be found worthy to stand before Thee with a pure heart and mind. Amen.

O Lord, have mercy on me a sinner. Cleanse me from my transgressions and grant me repentance, that I may walk in the way of righteousness and receive Thy divine grace. Amen.

O Lord, who art merciful unto all, cleanse Thou my soul from every defilement, that I may be made worthy to partake of Thy holy mysteries with a pure heart. Amen.

O Lord, who art the fountain of life, grant me to live in Thee and to serve Thee with a clean conscience. Amen.

Through the intercessions of Thy most holy Mother and all the saints, have mercy on me, O Lord. Amen.

O Lord our God, the only-begotten and lover of mankind, the only holy and resting in holiness, who wast seen by the apostle Peter with a glorious vision, let nothing unclean or impure be thought of from things created for food and enjoyment of man, and as thy vessel chosen, by the apostle Paul, thou didst command with pure commandments: Thou Thyself art Most High, calling by fearful and terrible name, and by the sign and life-giving seal of Thy Name, bless and cleanse Thy servant [and me], defiled from all unclean spirits, from every imagination and thought, from every sin and deceit, from every consent and folly, and from every sorrow, and from every passion, and from every contrary to Thy sweetness. And now, O unworthy servant [and me] of Thee, vouchsafe to serve Thy most holy mysteries. Before cleanse my soul and body from all uncleanness, and forgive all transgression, voluntary and involuntary, which I have committed in all the days of my life, by deed, word, and thought, day and night, until now. And give me here, O fearfully glorious hierarchies, service of this most terrible heavenly rank, and partake of Thy most holy mysteries, not into judgment or condemnation, but for the remission of sins, and in the coming of Thy eternal age, and life of everlasting joy, which Thou hast prepared as a true servant of Thee. Keep me, O all-powerful Lord, from all sin and sorrow, keep me unspotted and blameless from all contrary to the devil: and give me here, O serve Thee in holiness and righteousness until the last day and hour, and end my life: for Thou art blessed and glorified of us, our God, with Thy Father without beginning, and with Thy holy and life-giving house, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Of sin, and by reason thereof doth corruption arise in sleep:

If thou judgest sincerely and sayest, "Brother, thou art in great sin," both of high-mindedness and pride is it sinful. From many days and feasting, this also is fitting: from nature without movement and without thought, it flows forth, as doth also excess: from the weakness of bodily infirmities and sicknesses: yet, by no means are these guiltless; but both are called foul-smelling.
