In the lawless, I have come to myself as a wayward one; I dare not look upon the heavenly heights, but daring myself on thy love for mankind, I cry: O Lord, cleanse me, the sinful one, and save me.
If the sinner barely escapes, I myself appear in the guise of a sinner; day by day and hour by hour I have not borne the burdens and heat, but with hired men for one-tenth of an hour Thou didst draw nigh to me, and hast saved me.
Glory: The merciful Theotokos doth strive to save me, O my wandering and long-sought life, looking not to earthly riches but on the abundant mercy of thy treasures: now that it hath taken me in, do not despise my heart, for with compunction I call upon thee: I have sinned against heaven and before thee.
Now: The supplication of the Christians ceasing from their double-mindedness, which they bore more than words, pray unceasingly with their great powers, that deliverance from sins may be given to us all, and correction of life, by faith and love ever pleasing Thee who art worshipped.
O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:
O Master, All-Controlling, incomprehensible Beginning of the Light, and exceeding Power, in Whom is the essence of the Word of the Father, and One in power with Thee: merciful for mercy's sake, and ineffable Goodness, not despising the human nature, Thou didst descend in a cloud.
Thou dost contain sins, but by Thy holy teachings, by Thy law and prophets, Thou hast enlightened the world with a light that shineth evermore. Follow us therefore, O Goodly Flesh, with Thy only-begotten Son's Body, to raise us up in mercy; and guide us to our illumination by Thy enlightenment: that Thy Spirit may be in us.
Hearken to the voice of our prayer, O Lord, and give us Thy grace, that throughout this present night we may pass it in watchful and sober heart, waiting for the coming of Thine own, God and Saviour Jesus Christ, and Thy judgment upon all, so that not lying down and sleeping, but watching and standing up in action.
Thy commandments we shall keep, and in joy we shall meet Thee, where the joyful sing unceasingly, and the sight of Thy face, O Good and Lover of Mankind, God, doth reveal unspeakable sweetness of goodness. For Thou art Blessed and Lover of Humankind, God; to Thee we send forth glory, honour, and worship. Amen.
Holy God, holy strong One, holy Immortal, have mercy on us now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
