In the lawless, I have come to my senses, O Lord; I dare not look upon the heavenly heights, but daring myself on thy love for mankind, I cry: God, cleanse me, the sinful one, and save me.

If the sinner barely escapes, I myself appear in the guise of a sinner; day by day and hour by hour I have not borne the burdens and heat, but with hired men for one-tenth of an hour I have endured with Thee, and saved me.

Glory: The Spirit doth strive to convince me, O my wandering soul and life, having long waited for wealth, I looked upon the unassailable riches of thy mercies: now that it hath enfolded me, do not despise my heart, for thou art the Lord, calling unto me with compunction: I have sinned before thee and before heaven.

And now: The supplication of the Christians ceasing from their double-mindedness, which they bore more than words, let them pray with their great powers, that deliverance from sins and correction of life may be given to us all, and faith and love continually to those who invoke thee.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Master All-Controlling, incomprehensible Beginning of the Light, and most wondrous Power, in Whom is the essence of the Word of the Father, and One in power with Thee: for Thy mercies, and for unutterable blessings, not despising the human nature, Thou didst descend in a cloud.

Thou dost contain sins, but by Thy holy teachings, and by the light of Thy commandments and prophecies, Thou hast enlightened this world. Follow us therefore with Thy merciful flesh, that Thou mayest raise us up with Thine own body, and enlighten us for the consecration: that Thy Spirit may dwell in us.

Hearken to the voice of our prayer, O Lord, and give us Thy grace, that throughout this present night we may pass it in watchful and sober heart, waiting for the coming of Thine own self and God, Judge of all, that not lying down and sleeping, but watching and standing firm in work.

Thy commandments we shall keep, and in joy we shall meet Thee, where the joyful sing unceasingly, and they who see Thy face with unspeakable sweetness behold Thine ineffably good countenance. For Thou art good and lover of mankind, O God, and unto Thee we send glory, Father and Lord.

Holy God, holy Strength, holy Immortal, holy Unapproachable, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
