In the lawless, I have come to my senses, O Lord; I dare not look upon the heavenly heights, but daring myself on thy love for mankind, I cry: God, purify me, the sinful, and save me.
If the sinner barely escapes, I myself appear in the guilty; daily burdens and heat of day I have not borne, but with hired men for one-tenth of an hour I have brought thee under my yoke, and saved thee.
Glory: The merciful Theotokos doth strive to save me, O my wandering and wayward life; I have waited for riches unattainable, looking upon the bounty of thy salvation. Now that it hath enfolded me, do not despise my heart, for in thee, O Lord, with compunction I cry: I have sinned against heaven and before thee.
And now: The prayer of the Christians ceasing on high, which Thou didst bear more than words, ceaselessly pray with Thy mighty ones, that Thou mayest grant us all forgiveness of sins and correction of life, faith and love ever to those who truly seek Thee.
O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:
O Master All-Controlling, incomprehensible Beginning of the Light, and exceeding Power, in Whom the Word of the Father was made flesh, and by Thine Only-Springing Spirit: merciful for mercy's sake, and ineffable Goodness, not despising the human nature, Thou didst overshadow it with a cloud:
Thou dost contain sins, but by Thy holy teachings, Thy law and prophets, Thou makest the world lighted. Follow us then with Thy merciful flesh to raise up that body of ours, and for our enlightenment guide us: that Thy Spirit may enlighten us.
Hearken to the voice of our prayer, O Lord, and grant us, in watchful and sober heart, to pass through this present night, waiting for Thy coming and that of our God, that we may not lie down or sleep, but be vigilant and arise in deed.
Thy commandments we shall keep, and in joy meet Thy face, and where the joyful gather, there shall we behold an unceasing voice and a taste of unspeakable sweetness. For Thou art good and lover of mankind, O God, and to Thee we send glory, Father and Lord.
Holy God, holy strong One, holy Immortal, have mercy on us now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
