In the lawless, I have come to my senses, O Lord; I dare not look upon the heavenly heights, but daring myself on thy love for mankind, I cry: Lord, purify me, the sinful, and save me.

If the sinner barely escapes, I myself appear in the guilty; daily burdens and heat of day I have not borne, but with hired men for one-tenth of an hour I have joined Thee, O Lady, and saved me.

Glory: The Spirit doth strive to convince me, O my wandering soul and long-suffering; I waited for life, gazing upon the unmeasurable riches of thy mercies: now that it hath embraced me, do not despise my heart, for thou art the Lord, calling unto me with compunction: I have sinned against heaven and before thee.

And now: The supplication of the Christians ceasing on the Cross, which Thou didst bear more than words, ceaselessly pray with Thy mighty ones, that Thou wouldst grant us forgiveness of sins and correction of life, faith and love continually to them that truly invoke Thee.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Master, All-Controlling, incomprehensible Beginning of the Light, and exceeding Power, in Whom is the Substance of the Word of the Father, and One in Strength Thy Dispenser: merciful for mercy's sake, and ineffable Goodness, not despising the human nature, by a veil.

Thy sins we bear, but by Thy holy teachings, by the light of Thy commandments and prophecies, enlighten this world with a visible light, and follow us with Thy only-begotten Son in flesh to raise Him up for our salvation: that Thy Spirit may enlighten us and guide us unto Thine illumination.

Hearken to the voice of our prayer, O Lord, and grant us, in watchful and sober heart, to pass through all this present night, waiting for Thy coming and the coming of our God, that we may not lie down or sleep, but be vigilant and arise in deed.

Thy commandments we shall keep, and in joy we shall meet Thee, and where the joyful gather, a ceaseless glad voice, and those who behold Thy face with unspeakable sweetness shall see Thine unutterably good countenance. For Thou art good and lover of mankind, O God, and unto Thee we send glory, Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit.

Holy God, holy Strength, holy Immortal, holy Unapproachable, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
