Irimos:
By life alone we are saved,
And by death we perish;
For life is from Thee, O Lord,
And death is to us a stranger.
Through death Thou didst destrate
The power of him who held fast
The key of Death, and didst set free
Those in Hades' grip, O Good One.
Therefore, glorify the Mystery
Of Thy Cross, O Redeemer,
Which hath brought to nought
The works of the devil.
For Thou hast trampled on death by death,
And unto those who love Thee
Hast granted life from the dead.
By Thine own Resurrection, O Christ,
Thou didst raise up our souls to life eternal.
Thy conquering right hand, O God, in strength doth glorify Thee: for it is immortal, as all-powerful, having made the path of the enemy deep and new.
By Thy pure hands, O God, Thou first created me; with Thy stretched-out hand, Thou didst cry to the earth for my corruptible body, which Thou didst receive from dust.
Death hath overcome me, and Thou hast delivered my soul to the power of death; but by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Thou didst place Thy divine soul within me, and having broken the bonds of everlasting imprisonment, Thou didst raise me up with incorruptibility and glorified Thee.
O Theotokos,
Rejoice O fount of grace. Rejoice O ladder, and door opened, Rejoice O candlestick, and hand golden, and burden not borne, since thou art the bearer of life to the world's creatures.
And let it be according to the canonical, resurrection-giving precept.
Hymn: The Theotokos doth give birth:
O Soul/Spirit doth sanctify me, who was made flesh; O Soul/Spirit exalteth me, who was made humble; O Soul/Spirit worketh with me in my passionless nature, O Sufferer for the life of all. Wherefore I sing a thankful hymn: For Thou hast glorified.
Jesus Christ raiseth me up, who was crucified, Jesus Christ bringeth me to life, who was dead, Jesus Christ giveth me life, who was in death. Therefore with joyful hands I pour forth this victory song, praising my Saviour: For Thou hast glorified.
O Theotokos,
God the Father begat Thee, and the Theotokos brought Thee forth in the womb, and Thou wast incarnate for our salvation, alone of one substance, yet known by two natures: that Thou mightest be glorified.
And let us bow in reverence to the Theotokos.
Thou, O Thee, dost worthy song bringeth us unspeakable; truly persuasive, by which the Lord taught us in secret: Rejoice with the Bridegroom, O maidens, not espoused.
O Ever-virgin Theotokos, with hearts pure and faithful spirits we cry to thee: Rejoice, O Lady of Heaven, Maiden undefiled.
O boundless depth of Thy unsearchable joy, O All-creating One, with an unshakable faith we bring to Thee our supplication, saying: Rejoice, O Virgin Theotokos, Thou that art not espoused.
