Truly, God is good to Israel; to those of a blameless heart.

But as for me, my feet did stagger but for a moment; my steps had nearly slipped.

For I was zealous for the ungodly, seeing their peace.

For there is no weakening in their death, nor binding in their stripes.

In the labors of men there is no profit, and men do not receive recompense.

Therefore pride encompassed them, girding them about; injustice and profanity clothed them.

Their iniquities proceed as from a furnace, passing into the disposition of hearts.

They conceived corrupt thoughts and spoke wickedly of oppression; they spoke arrogantly.

They placed their mouths in heaven, and their tongues have gone over the earth.

‹. Therefore his people shall turn hither, and days complete shall be found for them.

а҃і. И҆ рѣ́ша: ка́кѡ ѹ҆вѣ́дѣ бг҃ъ; и҆ а҆́ще є҆́сть ра́зꙋмъ въ вы́шнѣмъ;
And they say, How hath God known? and is there knowledge in the Highest?

Behold, these are the ungodly and wax strong in sin, holding fast to wealth.

Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence.

д҃і. И҆ бы́хъ ꙗ҆́звенъ ве́сь де́нь, и҆ ѡ҆бличе́нїе моѐ на ѹ҆́треннихъ;
For the whole day I was tortured, and every morning brought chastisement.

If I say, I will speak thus; lo, I would profane the generation of thy children.

When I sought to know this, it was a burden to me.

Until I enter the holy sanctuary of God, and understand their latter end.

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places; thou didst cast them down to destruction.

How were they suddenly brought to desolation, vanished and perished through their own wickedness.

As a dream when one riseth up, O Lord; in thy city thou wilt make their likeness to nothing.

Thus my heart hath burned within me, and my reins are changed.

So confounded was I, and knew not; I became as a brute in thy sight.

Nevertheless I am ever with thee; thou hast held me by thy right hand.

Thou shalt guide me in thy counsel and receive me with glory.

к҃є. Что́ бо мѝ є҆́сть на нб҃сѝ; и҆ ѿ тебє2 что̀ восхотёхъ на землѝ;
What am I, O Heaven, that Thou dost esteem me; and from Thee, what I would on earth?

My flesh and my heart fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.

For, behold, those who separate themselves from thee shall perish; thou hast destroyed all the fornicators from among thy people.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: to place my hope in the Lord my God, to proclaim all your praises in the gates of the daughter of Sion.
