The mighty God, the Lord, spoke and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
A. O Beauty of God's glory:
Our God shall not keep silence; a fire shall consume before Him, and a fierce wind shall encircle Him.
He shall call upon the heavens from above, and upon the earth, that he may judge his people.
Gather to me the holy ones who have made the covenant with me through sacrifice.
And the heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God is a judge. Selah.
Hearken, O my people, and I will speak to thee, O Israel; and I will bear witness against thee: I am God, even thy God.
I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
I will not accept bulls from your stable or goats from your flock.
‹. For all the beasts of the forest are mine, and the cattle on all the hills.
I know all the birds of heaven, and the beauty of the field is with me.
If I hunger, I will not say to thee: for the world and its fullness are mine.
г҃і. Є҆да̀ ꙗ҆́мъ мѧса̀ ю҆́нча; и҆лѝ кро́вь козлѡ́въ пїю̀;
Will I eat the flesh of bullocks or drink the blood of goats?
Offer unto God a sacrifice of praise, and pay thy vows unto the Highest:
And call upon me in the day of distress; I will rescue thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
ѕ҃і. Грѣ́шникꙋ же речѐ бг҃ъ: вскꙋ́ю ты̀ повѣ́даеши ѡ҆правда̑нїѧ моѧ̑ и҆ воспрїе́млеши завѣ́тъ мо́й ѹ҆сты̀ твои́ми;
But unto the sinner the Lord said, Why dost thou relate my judgments, or take my covenant in thy mouth?
Seeing thou hast hated instruction and castest my words behind thee.
When thou sawest a thief, thou didst join with him, and with adulterers didst thou share.
Thou gavest thy mouth to wickedness, and thy tongue deviseth deceit.
Thou sittest and callest thy brother to evil; thou bearest thy mother’s son a grievous wound.
These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was like unto thee: but I will reprove thee, and show thee thy faults face to face.
Now consider these things, ye who have forgotten God, lest I tear you in pieces and there be none to deliver.
Whoso offereth praise shall glorify me, and to him who ordereth his life aright will I show the salvation of God.
At the end, when two days had passed, there came to Him a prophet,
When He entered into the house of the sinner, O Soul.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness; according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Purge me from my wickedness and from my sin, O Lord, for thy sake.
That I know my transgression, and my sin is ever before me.
Behold, Thou hast found me guilty only, and I have done evil in Thy sight, that I may be justified in Thy sayings and overcome when I am judged.
For indeed in transgressions I was conceived, and in sins my mother bore me.
For indeed, in truth thou hast loved righteousness and hast made known to me the hidden things of thy wisdom.
Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed; thou shalt smite me with the rod, and I shall become whiter than snow.
‹. Hearken to me with gladness and joy; let the bones bowed down with sorrow rejoice.
Cast me not away from thy presence, but take away all my sins.
Restore to me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
God. Do not cast me off from Thy face, and let Thy mercy depart not from me.
Lord, give me joy in thy consolation and strengthen me with thy Master.
I will teach the lawless thy ways, and the ungodly shall return to thee.
Deliver me from blood, O God, O God of my salvation; let my tongue rejoice in thy righteousness.
Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare Your praise.
That if thou hast earnestly desired an offering, I would have given holocausts.
Then shalt thou please the Lord with a sacrifice of a contrite and humble spirit; then shall thy altars offer acceptable sacrifices.
Blessed be the Lord in his goodness to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built.
Then thou wilt be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, an offering and whole burnt offerings; then they shall bring upon thy altar young bulls.
Glory:
