Genesis reading. [Gen.5:1–24]
This is the book of the existence of man, in this day God created Adam: in the image of God created it. Thou shalt create them husband and wife, and bless them: and thou shalt call his name Adam; this day thou shalt create them. And Adam lived two hundred and thirty years, and begat a son after his own appearance, and after his own image: and he called his name Seth. Now the days of Adam were, even after he begat Seth, seven hundred years old, and he begat sons and daughters. And all the days of Adam, even as he lived, were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. And Seth lived two hundred and five years, and gave birth to Enos: And Seth lived, after she gave birth to Enos, seven hundred and seven hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. And he lived all the days of Seth, nine hundred and twelve hundred years: and he died. And Enos lived a hundred and ninety years, and begat Cainan: And Enos lived, after he begat Cainan, seven hundred and fifty years, and begat sons and daughters. And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died. And Cainan lived a hundred and seventy years, and gave birth to Maleleel.
And Cainan lived until he begat Maleleel, seven hundred and fourty years, and begat sons and daughters. And he lived all the days of Cain, nine hundred and ten years: and he died. And Mahleleel lived a hundred and sixty-five years, and begat Jared. And Malalelel lived until he begat him Jared, seven hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters. And all the days of Malaleel he lived, about eight hundred and ninety-five years: and he died. And Jared lived a hundred and sixty-two years, and gave birth to Enoch. And Jared lived until he begat him Enoch an hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. And all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty and two years: and he died. And Enoch lived a hundred and sixty-five years, and begat Methuselah. Enoch please God, and Enoch may live until he bears Methuselah, two hundred years old, and begets sons and daughters. And all the days of Enoch lasted three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch pleased God, and if he was not found, God changed him away.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 36), tone 6: Be patient with the Lord,/ and keep His way.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 36), tone 6: Place your hope in the Lord and keep His path!

Reading parables. [Chapter 6:3–20]
Son, do as I command you, and save yourself: for if you go in the hands of the wicked for your friend, do not weaken: encourage your friend too, whom you have ruined. Do not let your eyes sleep, let your eyes fall asleep everywhere: May you be saved like a chamois from snares, and like a bird from a net. Go to wickedness, O lazy one, and be jealous, having seen his ways, and become the wisest. For he does not exist as a farmer, below his needy, below his lord, he prepares food for the harvest, and makes much provision in the summer. or go to the bee, and see that there is a worker, and that there is an honest work: the king and the simple use her labors for health, but she is loved by everyone and Glorious: although the being was weak and strong, [yet] it was made honorable by wisdom. How long, O lazy one, lie down; when will you arise from sleep; You sleep a little, you sit a little, you doze a little, you don’t sleep a lot, you stretch your arms a little: Then you will find poverty like an evil traveler: poverty like a good one flowing
If you are not lazy, your harvest will come like a fountain, and poverty will run away like an evil stream [from you]. The man is foolish and lawless, walking on a path that is not good: He also smears with his eye, and gives a sign with his foot, and teaches by anointing his fingers. A depraved heart forges evil: for all time such rebellion constitutes a hail. For this reason, death, cutting and incurable brokenness suddenly comes to him. For he rejoices over all whom God hates: but he grieves for the impurity of the soul. The eye of the harasser, the tongue of the unrighteous, the hand that sheds the blood of the righteous: And the heart that thinks evil thoughts, and the nose that strives to do evil, will be consumed. The unrighteous witness liquefies lies, and sends judgments among the brethren. Son, keep the laws of your father, and do not deny the punishment of your mother.
