O One Immortal and Unchanging Lord, for Thy ineffable love of mankind, Thou didst receive into Thyself our entire mixture from the divine and rational bloods, more than nature produced, by Thine own Divine Presence, by Thy Holy Spirit, preserving us in Thy holy host, granting us life, peace, and strength. By Thy reception, O Life-giving and Saviour Incarnation, Thou didst conquer death, O Lord, crushing my soul’s earthly sufferings. By Thy burial, O Lord, Thou didst bury the kingdom of hell; by Thy righteous thoughts, Thou didst bury my evil counsels and deceitful spirits.
By Thy three-day and life-giving Resurrection, Thou didst raise up the fallen father, raising me also who have fallen in sin, presenting to me an example of repentance. By Thy glorious Ascension, Thou didst sanctify the reception, and by Thy right hand’s exaltation, Thou hast granted me to partake of Thy holy mysteries with a pure heart.
By the Comforter’s descent, Thou didst make vessels most holy, showing me Thy coming. O Lord, I pray Thee again to judge all creation in righteousness; may I meet Thee on the clouds, Judge and Creator of mine, with all Thy saints: that I may now and ever, and unto ages of ages, praise Thee with Thy unending Father and the Holy, Blessed, Life-giving Temple. Amen.

O Master, Jesus Christ, our only Power, dost Thou permit sin to abide in man: for Thou art full of goodness and love toward mankind, Thou dost despise all my sins whether known or unknown: and vouchsafe me to partake unworthily of Thy divine, glorious, precious, life-giving Mysteries: not by reason of the weightiness, nor by the sufferings, nor by the addition of sin, but by cleansing, and consecration, and anointing, for the receiving of the hope of life and the Kingdom. For Thou art God of Mercy, and Lover of mankind: to Thee we send forth glory, honor, and worship, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Mercy, O holy vase of the great Virgin:
We know, O Lord, because unworthy we partake of Thy precious Body and Holy Blood; and I am guilty, condemning myself as I drink, not reasoning about the Body and Blood of Thy Christ: but daring on account of Thy bounty, I have come to Thee, saying: Give my flesh, and drink my blood, which is in me, and I in it. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, and do not condemn the sinful one; but work with me according to Thy will: that I may be made holy by healing, cleansing, enlightenment, preservation, salvation, and in the receiving of soul and body: in the burning away of all vain thoughts, of evil deeds, and of the works of the devil in my thoughts. In boldness and love, whereunto I am come to Thee, for correction of life, and confirmation, for return to virtue and perfection: in the fulfillment of Thy commandments, in common prayer, in guidance of life eternal, in the light blessedly pleasing on Thy fearful judgment: not into judgment or condemnation.

O Lord, cleanse me from evil thoughts, from the filthiness of a wicked heart, from unclean lips, and from my soul. Receive my prayer, Theotokos, and do not despise my words, neither my forms, nor my ignorance. Give me boldness to speak as Thou wilt, Theotokos. Teach me also what I ought to do and say. I have sinned more than a harlot, who was led into the place where Thou dwellest, having bought ointment with her tears, and came boldly to anoint Thy feet, O my God, Master and Theotokos. As she did not hide from her heart when she approached, but said: "Give Thy hand to wipe them away, and hold it, and kiss it, and with streams of tears, as with a precious ointment, anoint boldly." Wipe me with thy tears, cleanse me with them, saying: "Leave off my transgressions, and grant me repentance." Weigh my sins, weigh my labors much, and gaze upon me: but also weigh my faith, and the will, and hear my sighs. Do not hide from Thee, O my God, Creator of mine, Deliverer of mine, a single tear or part thereof. Thou seest my multitude of unrighteous deeds; in Thy book they are still unwritten. See my humility, see my labor, and forgive all my sins, both those of the body and soul. That I may receive with a clean heart, with a contrite mind, and a humbled spirit, the holy mysteries which quicken and sanctify every man. For Thou hast said, O Master: "Every member of my flesh, and my blood, in this body of mine abides, in whom also I am." Truly, the Word of all things is Thy God: by partaking of the divine mysteries and performing the unspotted sacraments, I am not alone, but with Thee, O my God, a threefold light enlightening the world. That I may not be alone, as Thou hast said, Triune, receive me now, that no one who is impure or deceitful may take me from Thee and deceive those who perform Thy words. Now I come to Thee with tears, and a contrite heart, seeking deliverance from my sins, and partake of Thy unspotted and pure mysteries without condemnation. That Thou mayest abide, as Thou hast said, Triune, with me in the Trinity: that no one may find me, O my God, but the deceitful seducer may take me by his guile, and deceive those who perform Thy words. Now I come to Thee with a warm heart, saying: As Thou didst receive the harlot, and her who came after her, so also receive me, the sinner and the unclean. With a contrite heart, now coming to Thee, knowing that as another, as I am, I have not sinned against Thee, nor committed any sin in my day. But we know again, as no sinfulness or multitude of sins surpasses Thy great patience and extreme love for mankind: but with warm compassion Thou cleansest, enlightenest, and createthest the communicants, sharing with them without envy: and strange things and angelic thoughts, and human thoughts, Thou dost discourse to them many times, as to Thy true friends. This boldness worketh in me, this putteth me forth, Theotokos. And by Thy rich blessings, rejoicing together, trembling, partaking of the fire, like green grass, and a strange wonder, being watered not with fire, as if a cup of ancient fire burning. Now with thankful heart, with a grateful heart, with my thanksgiving hymns, soul and body, I prostrate myself, glorifying Thee, O my God, for Thou art blessed now and forever.
