To whom shall I cry, O Lady, to whom shall I convey the sorrow of my heart, if not Thee, the Merciful Queen? My soul is confused and my spirit is depressed, but soon hear my prayer, strengthen my faith, protect me with patience and revive me with good hope.
Most Holy Theotokos, Pure Virgin! Intercede, save, cover with Your mercy my child, warrior [name], on the battlefield of this being, establish him in the true faith, protect him from the malice of enemies visible and invisible, keep him safe and sound, give him the strength to carry his military service, like a cross, blamelessly, and return him to his father’s house. Amen.
