Holy and blameless is the intercession of the Christians, unshaken supplication to the Creator. Do not despise the eyes of our sinful prayers, but hasten before Thee for our help, O Faithful, calling upon Thee: Hasten to our prayer, and strive in our entreaties, being a perpetual advocate at the presence of the Theotokos, who prayeth to Thee.
Jas 4:6: Stretch out Thy hands, by which Thou didst receive all creatures for the sake of the Word; for the multitude of Thy goodness: do not forsake us always those who hope in Thee, with a goodly and unceasing prayer, and grant to our souls Thine abundant mercy, ever flowing forth: for we, O sinful ones, have found Thee a defender from those that afflict us.
But as Thou art full of mercy, hasten to our prayer, and strive in our entreaties, being a perpetual advocate at the presence of the Theotokos, who prayeth to Thee.
When the Angel Guardian doth keep thee,
Thy soul with compunction of heart doth rejoice,
For thou hast found favour in His sight.
For He is a Stranger in this world,
And a Stranger to sin's delusion.
He dwelleth not in the region of death,
But in the realm of life eternal.
Therefore, O Soul, be glad and rejoice;
For thou art called to the kingdom of heaven,
Wherein standeth the glory of God.
Thou art a stranger here, but there thou shalt find
The true and everlasting life.
Be not deceived by the vanities of this world,
But seek the mercy of Him who is ever merciful.
For He is the Lord our God,
And His right hand is a mighty arm.
In Him we have found true salvation,
And in His name we are called to repentance.
Mercy hath come to me, O holy angel of the Lord, guardian of mine, and thou dost not suffer me from the foulness, but enlighten me with an unassailable light, and make me worthy of the heavenly worship. The Prophet says: Thou, O holy intercessor, having vanquished my soul by many snares, hast vouchsafed to me, O holy one, ineffable glory, and singer with the choirs of the incorporeal powers of thy Godhead, have mercy on me and preserve me, and let thy thoughts enlighten my soul with good thoughts, that I may be enriched by thy glory, O holy angel mine, and cast down those who think evil against me, and make me worthy of the heavenly worship.
