Having risen on Mount Athos, like a newly-minted star, you enlighten the Church of Christ with your dawning virtues, O holy monk Nicodemus; from here we call to life with your light:
Rejoice, church star;
Rejoice, torch of piety.
Rejoice, explanation of the ancient theologians;
Rejoice, overthrow of alien teachings.
Rejoice, guardian and secret guide of divine traditions;
Rejoice, holy light-bearer of virtuous deeds.
Rejoice, for you denounce the new teachings;
Rejoice, for you demonstrate God-given virtues.
Rejoice, dearest servant of God;
Rejoice, unshakable protector of the faithful.
Rejoice, paradise of manifold wisdom;
Rejoice, who was the shining light of learning in Christ.
Rejoice, Father Nicodemus, Holy Mountains, glorious decoration.
