An angel in the world, like a spectator on high, appeared to you, O all-blessed Gregory, and through your God-like life you enhanced your angelic talents. Moreover, marveling at your lordship, father, we cry:
Rejoice, for the Divine Light shines;
Rejoice, for you have driven away the darkness.
Rejoice, most fragrant of wisdom;
Rejoice, punishment of the best communicant.
Rejoice, unimaginable height of lofty visions;
Rejoice, impenetrable depth of spiritual gifts.
Rejoice, for you are the lordship of the church;
Rejoice, for you have shown yourself to be a fortress of the Orthodox.
Rejoice, all-bright luminary of faith;
Rejoice, lamp of grace that never goes down.
Rejoice, for his sake the talkers fall silent;
Rejoice, for his sake the theologians will leap.
Rejoice, Father Gregory, preacher of grace.
