O Lord our God, only Lover of mankind, only Holy and resting in Thy holy apostle Peter by the vision, neither think anything unclean or impure concerning those things created for food and for enjoyment of man, and as vessels chosen by Thee, apostle Paul, Thou didst command with pure commandments: Thou Thyself art Most High, calling by the fearful and pre-eminent name of Thine and by the sign and life-giving seal of Thy precious cross, bless and cleanse Thy servant [and me] defiled from all unclean spirit, from every imagination and thought deceitful, from every sin and all guile, from every yielding to it and from every vanity, and from every grief, and from every envy, and from every thing contrary to the sweetness of God. And now, unworthy as I am, Thy servant [and me], let me be deemed worthy to serve Thy most holy mysteries. And first cleanse my soul and body from all uncleanness, and forgive all transgressions, voluntary and involuntary, which I have committed in all days of my life, by deed, word, and thought, day and night, until now. And grant me here, O Most powerful Lord, to serve these most fearful heavenly powers, and to partake of Thy most holy mysteries not for judgment or condemnation, but for the remission of sins, and for the coming age, and for the lively hope thereof which Thou didst prepare as a true servant of Thine. Keep me, O All-powerful Lord, from all sin and folly, keep me unspotted and without reproach from all contrary diseases of the devil: and grant me here to serve Thee in holiness and righteousness until the last day and hour, for Thou art blessed and glorified of us, O God our Lord, with Thy Father and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. If thou judgest sincerely thy brother, who is guilty indeed very much: from lofty and proud heart, this also is sin. From many days and feasting, it is fitting: as the natural flows without movement and without thought, even so doth the superfluous flow: from weakness of bodily nature, and certain sicknesses: from devilish envy: wherefore they are guiltless therefore, but both are called foul-smelling.

It behoveth to know, because from this Wednesday of the great week of Pascha, even until Thursday, even at hours and vespers thus they sing.
