Great and incomprehensible God, Father without beginning, co-existent with the Son and the Soul, existent that does not exist, save the perishing, give life to the dead, create according to Your will in heavenly power and in the earthly settlement, and manage all kinds of wondrous providence! Incline Your ear from Your holy heights, and receive Your humble and unworthy servants for us, in whose image You have revealed Your great salvation from troubles and all-destroying, with your heart and lips, this prayer of gratitude, confession and praise offered to You. For thou didst not do unto us according to our iniquity, O Lord, thou didst reward us according to our sin.

You spoke of old to the sons of Israel, that if they do not listen to Your voice, to keep and do all Your commandments, You will bring a cold-faced tongue upon them, who will crush them in their cities, until their walls are destroyed: we know that this terrible word has come on us and on our fathers: nevertheless, Your rebuke not fearing and neglecting Thy mercy, we left the path of Thy righteousness and walked in the wills of our hearts, and did not resist the temptation to have in Thy mind and heart the God of minds and hearts: and even the fatherly tradition, imputing it to nothing, angered Thee about strangers. For their sake, like the children of Israel of old, we too are in a cruel situation, and because of their zealous instruction, we have these violent and beastly enemies. But You, Lord God, generous and merciful, long-suffering and abundantly merciful and true, keep the truth, and show mercy in thousands, take away iniquities and untruths and sins, forsake us for a little while, with great mercy you had mercy, and visited us with the rod of unrighteousness, just as a father generously shows his sons, so you have shown mercy to us.

For Thou hast looked upon our sorrow and upon the consumption of the reigning city, in which Thy name has been called upon from the years of old, and upon our prayers, not trusting in our righteousness before Thee, but upon Thy many bounties, O Lord: and Thou hast given us a backbone of wicked co-conspirators, and crowned our most pious Tsar Alexander Pavlovich Thou art the weapon of Thy good pleasure, that from the face of Thy Christ Thy enemies will vanish like smoke, and those who love Thee will shine forth like the east of the sun in their strength. We have seen, O Lord, we have seen, and all the nations have seen in us, for You are God, and You cannot: You have killed and created life, You have slain and healed, and there is no one who will take it out of Your hand. Therefore, our heart is established in our Lord, our horn is exalted in our God, we rejoice in Your salvation. We thank Thee, Lord, for Thou hast punished us in time, so as not to give us over to death forever.

Grant us, Lord, the memory of this glorious visit of Yours to hold firmly and unceasingly in ourselves, as if we were confirmed in You by filial fear and faith and love, and protected by Your strength, always, as today, we sing and glorify Your holy name. Confirm Your blessing on our most pious, autocratic, great sovereign, Emperor Nicholas Alexandrovich of all Russia, and may Your Good Spirit rest upon him. Grant in the pious state the shrine of its shepherd, the ruler of justice and truth, the people of peace, the law of strength and the success of faith. O Most Merciful Lord! add Thy mercy to those who lead Thee: but be revealed to those who do not seek Thee: also turn the enemies of our hearts to Thee: and be known with all tongue and mind in Thy One True Christ. Yes, from the East of the sun to the West, with all their tongues, but with one heart, all the nations exclaim to You with a voice of joy.

Proclamation

Glory to You God, Savior of all, forever and ever.
