O great Father Abraham, worthy ascetic of Christ, our glorious helper and protector in sorrows and misfortunes! Nothing can separate you from your love for the Lord Jesus: neither persecution, nor slander, nor rebuke of your enemies. You, like a lion, have come forth to fight against the mental wolves, the spirits of malice, and for your good confession the people of Smolensk, your kindred, raised up against you: but these you have struck down like a fiery arrow, we are strengthened by the power of the grace of the Holy Spirit, and like an eagle in the mountains. You soared from the abode of the Heavenly Father, inheriting eternal life, glory and indescribable bliss there. We believe, holy of God, that, standing with the Angels and all the saints before the throne of glory of the Trinitarian God, zealous and God-pleasing prayers are offered not only for this holy monastery, built by you, and for our city, but also for all the holy Church of Christ, and for the Orthodox kingdom of Russia, and our most pious emperor Nikolai Alexandrovich.
Vema, glorious miracle worker like you, by the power of the Almighty Lord Jesus Christ, while still alive, you begged the land of Smolensk, thirsty for the sins of people, to give abundant rain to water, and after your dormition, abundant gifts of grace-filled help for the salvation of all who come running to you with faith flow forth, Most of all, give your death to those who honor you with repentance, and let us all unanimously glorify the inscrutable greatness of God’s goodness. In the same way, with faith and love, falling and reverently kissing your holy icon, we pray to you, our good prayer book and intercessor in heaven: help us sinners and humble ones with your prayers in all our sorrows, needs and circumstances, preserve us and this holy monastery of yours and this city of Smolensk and all Orthodox Christians The Russian country from all evil and all misfortune, most of all, promote our eternal salvation, and preserve everyone who asks for your help and intercession.
Also pray to Christ our Savior, may he grant peace and silence to all Orthodox Christians, and may he turn away from us all anger towards the present, may he deliver us from the snares of the enemy, languor in the bonds of sin and the torments of hell, and may he grant us, unworthy and sinful, to stand at His right hand at His righteous Judgment and lead us into the eternal rest of His saints, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and ineffable sweetness of those who behold the kindness of His face: and so may we with you and all the saints endlessly glorify the Trinity, Consubstantial and Indivisible, forever and ever.
