Glory to the all-powerful and all-venerable archbishop, great miracle-worker, holy martyr Nicholas, faithful servant of God and man of faith, desired husband, chosen vessel, strong pillar of the Church, bright light, shining and illuminating all the universe! Thou art the first-born among the dead, as the flower of the field that springeth forth in the courts of the Lord: alive in the world, thou wast covered with a garment of flesh, and from thence didst flow forth the divine grace of the Spirit: by thy holy journeying, O glorious father, the sea was made to stand still, when many wonders of thine power were manifested in the city of Bar, praising thee throughout its length from east to west. Thou, most marvellous and wonderful miracle-worker, quick to help, warm protector, good shepherd, saving the word-faithful flock from all misfortunes!
We glorify Thee and we magnify Thee, for Thou art the hope of all Christians, fount of miracles, defender of the faithful, wise teacher, feeder of the hungry, comforter of those who weep, provider for the naked, physician of the sick, pilot for those in peril by water, liberator of captives, sustainer of widows and orphans, guardian of the whole household, instructor of the young, guide of the penitents, comforter of the laboring, rich to the poor. Hear us, O intercessor, who pray unto Thee and flee for refuge under Thy wings; for through Thy prayers, most glorious father, before all-merciful God, we beseech Thee with lowly supplication.
Keep this house [and this temple] and all the city and every Christian land, and those living therein, from all calamities by Thy help. For indeed, indeed, as much as prayer is mighty, hastening to good: before Thee, most mighty, with the two holy myrrh-bearers, we present ourselves as suppliants to all-merciful God, and beseech Thee, most glorious father, with lowly entreaties for our salvation.
Keep us, O good shepherd, from all enemies, destruction, fear, famine, plague, fire, sword, invasion of strangers, and in all our sorrows and tribulations; stretch forth Thy hand of mercy to us: since we are unworthy to behold the height of heavenly glory, because of the multitude of our unrighteousnesses. We have been bound with chains of sin, and neither created nor preserved by our own will.
Therefore, bowing down on our knees with contrite hearts before our Creator, and beseeching Thy merciful intercession for us: help us, O good husband, that we may not perish through our unrighteousnesses. Deliver us from all evil and from every thing that resists us; direct us, and strengthen our heart in the right faith by Thy intercession and mediation, neither by wounds nor by chastisement, nor by sickness, nor by any anger of our Creator, but let us live peaceably here on earth, and be worthy to see the good things of this life, praising Father and Son and Holy Spirit, the One glorified and worshipped God now and forever and ever. Amen.
O all-holy Nicholas, ever-merciful Lord, warm our protector and ever ready to help in times of distress! Help me, the sinful and weary one, in this present life, pray to God that He grant me forgiveness of all my sins, both from my youth until now, in all my deeds, words, thoughts, and every feeling: and at the departure of my soul, help me with your intercession. Pray to God for all creation, that it may assist and deliver me from the fiery torments and eternal suffering: so that I may always glorify the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Most merciful Father Nicholas, shepherd and teacher of all, by faith coming to thy intercession and with warm prayer calling upon thee! Swiftly hasten and save the Lord's flock from wolves destroying it: and every land of Christians guard and preserve with thy steadfast prayers from worldly deceit, fear, invasion, and foreign enemies, from famine, flood, fire, sword, and sudden death. And as thou didst forgive three men sitting in prison and delivered them from the king's wrath and sword-stroke: so also forgive me, O my soul, by word and deed in the darkness of sins existing, and save me from the wrath of God and eternal punishment: that through thy intercession and help, with thy own mercy and grace, the peace of the Lord may give me to live in this present age without sin, and save me from the torments of hell, and grant my right hand with all saints for ever and ever. Amen.
