Beholding the outpouring of thy mysteries, O God-wise One, our souls and bodies are enlightened, divinely perceiving the life-giving effusion thereof, O Lord, understanding thus: by means of waters, through the divine grace flowing forth, thou hast poured thyself upon the faithful in wonder: Glory to thee.
Ununderstood reason, when enlightened by the Holy Spirit, was in the Incarnation with the holy fathers as a defender of the Orthodox faith: for even thou didst confess equally with the fathers, being present and co-reigning, but the foolish thou didst expose. By the power given Thee from on high, Thou didst weep all tears from the face of those fiercely persecuting, O Saviour, Lord: for Thou didst feed the hungry, a most righteous ruler in the midst of the stormy seas, a Healer who doth not faint, and didst show Thyself to be Helper to all, crying out to God: Gloria.

Having arisen, O good Shepherd Nicholas, Thou didst bring light of eternal life and deliverance to the leaders, taking from them the unjust death, and Thou didst frighten Him when He soon fell asleep in a dream before the king. Though we strive to quench the godless heretical flame with its foul incense, the true holy and mystic myrrh hath nevertheless been revealed: men of the world have anointed themselves therewith, and the whole world hath been filled with its divine fragrance: and from us there cometh forth the abominable sin of foul incense, that we may worthily cry to God: Gloria.

O all-praiseworthy and most glorious archbishop, great wonderworker, saint of Christ, O Nicholas, man of God and faithful servant, desired husband, chosen vessel, strong pillar of the Church, light bearer, most radiant star guiding and enlightening all creation! Thou art the first-born, as a flower that blossoms in the courts of Thy Lord: alive amidst the dead, Thou wast wrapped in swaddling clothes with the fragrance of divine grace; from Thee flows the ever-flowing source of God's mercy. By Thy holy journey, O glorious father, the sea was still when many wonders of Thy power were displayed in the city of Bar, praising Thee from east to west: O surpassingly and marvelously working wonderworker, swift helper, warm protector, good shepherd, saving with Thy word the flock from all dangers!
We glorify Thee and honor Thee, as the hope of all Christians, source of wonders, defender of the faithful, wise teacher, nourisher of the hungry, comforter of those in tears, provider for the naked, physician to the sick, pilot through the perils, liberator of captives, sustainer of widows and orphans, guardian of the whole body, chastiser of the young, instructor of the old, guide of penitents, helper of those striving for peace, rich in almsgiving. Hear us, O intercessor, who pray to Thee and seek refuge under Thy roof; through Thy prayers, O most merciful, bring all good things for our salvation of soul and body: preserve this monastery [and this church] and the whole city, and every Christian land, and those living in them by Thy gracious help.
For we know that prayer is mighty, hastening to the good: before Thee, O Most Holy, who stand as intercessor before all-merciful God, with Thy most merciful entreaties, we humbly beseech Thee. Keep us, O good shepherd, from all enemies, destruction, fear, plague, famine, flood, fire, sword, invasion of our people, and in all our sorrows and tribulations, stretch forth Thine hand to give us help; for we are unworthy to behold the height of heavenly glory because of the multitude of our sins: bound by the chains of sin, neither have we created nor preserved the commandments of God. Therefore, with bowed heads and humbled hearts, we prostrate ourselves before our builder and ask Thy merciful intercession: help us, O good husbandman, that we may not perish through our own unrighteousness; deliver us from all evil and from every thing opposing us, guide us, strengthen our heart in the right faith by Thy intercession, neither by wounds nor by judgment, nor by death, nor any wrath of God, but let us live peaceably here on earth, and be worthy to see the good things of life with the Father and Son and Holy Spirit, together glorifying One God, now and forever. Amen.

O all-holy Nicholas, ever-merciful Intercessor, and in every tribulation a swift Helper! Help me, the sinful and wearied one, in this present life; pray to God that He grant me forgiveness of all my sins, both from my youth until now, in all my life, by deed, word, thought, and all my feelings: and at the departure of my soul, help me with thy intercession. Pray to God for all creation, that it may assist me, deliver me from spiritual torments and eternal suffering: so that I may always glorify Thee, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

O Most Merciful Father Nicholas, pastor and teacher of all, to whom the faithful come in faith seeking thy intercession and fervently calling upon thee! Swiftly hasten and save the Lord's flock from the wolves that destroy it: and guard and preserve every land of Christians from worldly deceit, fear, invasion by foreigners and mutual strife, from hunger, flood, fire, sword, and sudden death. Even as thou didst forgive the three men sitting in the dungeon and deliver them from the king's wrath and the stroke of the sword: so also forgive me, O my soul, by word and deed in the darkness of sin wherein I am living, and save me from the wrath of God and eternal punishment: that through thy intercession and help, by thine own mercy and grace, the peace of Christ may be given to me to live in this present age without sin, and deliver me from the torments of hell, and grant my right hand with all thy saints for ever and ever. Amen.
