This prayer is called: a prayer to the Holy Spirit, and all church prayers begin with it, so that the Holy Spirit would make those present worthy and teach them to pray pleasingly to God. The peculiarities of this prayer, according to the church charter, are that it is not read or sung in the Church for 50 days, that is, from the first day of Easter until Trinity Day; and on this day (during Matins and Mass) it is solemnly sung in the altar. Both are based on the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ, who by His resurrection further confirmed in His disciples the faith that He is God, commanded them to wait for the Comforter promised by Him - the Spirit, which He solemnly fulfilled on the 10th day after His Ascension into heaven.
