Lord, listen to my prayer, hear my prayer in your truth, hear me in your justice; and do not enter into judgment with your servant, because he will not be justified before you all who live. Because the enemy has pursued my soul, humbled my life to the ground, sit me in darkness as dead for ever; and he has devoured my spirit, within me my heart has been troubled. Remembrance of ancient days, I studied in all your works, in poetry of your handiwork. I flew towards you in my hands; my soul is like dry land to you. Hear me quickly, Lord, let my spirit vanish. Do not turn your face away from me, and I will be like those who go down to the pit. Hear me in the morning your mercy, for I hoped in you. Know for me, Lord, the way in which I walk, for I have committed my soul to you. Deliver me from my enemies, Lord, for I take refuge in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.
May your good spirit guide me on the straight earth; for the sake of your name, O Lord, live with me, in your righteousness you will deliver my soul from sorrow; and in your mercy you will destroy my enemies and destroy all those who afflict my soul, for I am your servant I am.
