On the hymns of praise, stichera are sung, glas:
Every breath and every creature shall glorify the Lord,
for by thy death thou hast abolished death,
and hast revealed to the human race
the resurrection of the dead,
thou alone, O Lover of mankind.
Let the Jews say how warriors have slain those keeping watch over the King; for why should a stone preserve life of stones; either let them bury the dead, or bow to him who rose again, speaking with us: glory in multitude of thy mercies, save us, glory to thee.
Let the people rejoice and be glad, the angel sitting on the stone of the tomb, he saith to us: Jesus Christ is risen from the dead, O Saviour of the world, and fulfilled all the desires of every heart: let the people rejoice and be glad.
Angel of gladness, who rejoiced before thy conception by the Lord, bringeth thee more glorious gifts: an angel also brought a stone from the famous tomb of thy grave, sealing thy resurrection: sorrow hath given place to joy, proclaiming his image: in death he gave witness to the life-giver, wherefore we cry to thee: O Giver of good things, to thee be glory throughout the heavens.
Mourning with tears at thy grave, O Myrrh-bearer, ye have fulfilled the mouths of them that rejoiced, saying: Arise, O Lord.
Let the tongues and peoples of the Theotokos our God praise Him, for His will's sake who endured suffering and was in the depths of hell three days: and let them bow down to Him, risen from the dead, by whom Thou hast enlightened all the ends of the world.
Hanged and buried was Thou, O Jesus Christ, as Thou didst will; Thou hast trampled down death by death, and hast risen in glory, for God and Master, granting the world life eternal and to bestow it.
Verily, truly, those who are without law, sealing the stone, have wrought greater wonders for us! To them is given to keep watch over reason, today passing through the grave, and they spake: Say ye to those sleeping, "Lo, the disciples came, and stole him away." And who doth steal a dead man, more than one naked? Himself arose of His own authority, as God, leaving in the grave both the sealers and the buryers thereof: Come, see, O Jews, how not broken is the seal, death overcome, and giving to the human race endless life, and commanding great mercy.
