Yrmos: Ruler of the heavens, the angel began to sing with a prophet's voice / with the Son of the Venerable Youth, / while the sinners fell silent at the command of God, / and the tormentor was commanded to weep: / Blessed art Thou, O Theotokos, our Lady.

Wretched are thy teeth that pierced me with their own deceitful mouth: / but thou thyself, O Mother of God, crush them, / and strength hast Thou given me to cry out: / Blessed art thou, O Virgin, Mother of our God.

O sanctuary of nature, Thou art alone the gracious God,
on Thy arm sitteth the Cherubim's throne of the Lord,
for bearing their wings, Thou dost cry:
Blessed art Thou, O Mother of God, our Intercessor.
