Irmos: Ye children wise in gold, did not serve the body, and themselves went into the flame, and their gods were ashamed; amid the flames they cried out, and an angel appeared and said: Having heard your prayers, we have listened.

**Choir Response:** A pure heart fashion thee in me, O Lord, and a right spirit renew thou within my womb. Thou art the fount of blessings, partaker, keeper of thy immortal mysteries today, that I may be light, life, and impassionateness, and for repose and increase of virtue most fervently intercede, alone nearest, as to glorify thee.

**Choir Response:** Do not forsake me from thy face, O Lord, and let thy saint not depart from me. That I may be delivered from passions, enemies, needs, and all sorrows, with fear and love, with gladness, lovingkindly, now approach unto thy immortal and merciful mysteries, and be able to pray: Blessed art thou, O Father, our God.

**Choir Response:** Having ceased, save us. Save the Theotokos, more glorious than the cherubim, most gracious, I now beseech thee, reading unclean: of him who desires today to approach unto thy ineffable mysteries, cleanse all from sin of body and spirit.
