It behoveth to know, because in every psalm the stichoi are intoned, even unto the end, in one great mystery on Wednesday; and we intone the stichoi even to the close.

To the troparia also, we say to Thee alone: Glory be to Thee, O Our God, glory be to Thee.

Psalm of Moses concerning the Second Giving of the Law. Law written again, Psalm of Moses.

Hearken, O heavens, and I will speak; and let the earth give heed to the words of my mouth.

Let it rain according to my desire, and let the dew answer my words.

As a cloud of thunder, and as dew upon the grass, even as I have called them, give great glory to our God.

God's works are true, and all His ways are judgments; God is faithful, and there is no injustice; righteous and holy is the Lord.

God is faithful, and there is no unrighteousness in Him: He is righteous and venerable Lord.

They have become corrupt, a generation of no faithfulness: they are perverse and crooked.

Сі́и лю́дїе бꙋ́їи и҆ не мꙋ́дри: не са́мъ ли се́й ѻ҆ц҃ъ тво́й стѧжа́ тѧ, и҆ сотвори́ тѧ, и҆ созда́ тѧ;
These men are foolish and not wise: is it not thy Father who hath kept thee, and fashioned thee, and created thee?

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask your father, and he shall show you; your elders, and they shall tell you.

Thou shalt ask of thy Father, and He shall teach thee, O Fathers of thine, and shall say to thee.

When the Most High divided the nations among the sons of Adam, he set the boundaries of peoples according to the number of the angels of God.

Set bounds to the tongues according to the number of the angels' hosts; and there was a part for the Lord's people, as also their inheritance, yea.

He found Him in the wasteland, in the scorching wilderness; He surrounded Him with heat, instructed Him, and watched over Him as the apple of His eye.

Let Him abide in thee, and correct thee, and keep thee, for the eye of His glory.

As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreads its wings wide, takes them, bears them upon the pinions thereof:

Stretched forth His wings, and received, and bore upon His own arm.

The Lord alone led them, and there was no stranger God with them.

Lift up on high the power of the earth, that it may fill the life of the dwellers thereof.

Cravens, thou eatest honey out of a stone, and oil out of the hard rock.

Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and goats, with fat of rams from Bashan, and kids, with the fat of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of wine.

But Jacob waxed fat and kicked; the beloved grew thick and robust, and forsaking God who made him, slighted the Rock of his salvation.

Almighty, All-compassionate, Expand: and mayst Thou preserve Him who was created by God, and withdraw from the Saviour of His own self.

They provoked me with strangers in their abominations; they vexed me with detestables.

They sacrificed to demons, not to God; to gods they had not known—new gods that had come recently, whom their fathers did not fear.

Of the Rock that begat thee thou hast forsaken it, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

And when the Lord saw it, He was jealous and wrathful because of the provocation of His sons and daughters.

And he said, I will turn away my face from them; I will see what their end shall be: for they are a froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

For the race is corrupted, and of sons thereof there is no faith in them.

They have moved me to jealousy with things that are not God; they have provoked me to anger with their idols: and I will move them to jealousy with nations unjust, I will make them envious with a foolish people.

And from irritation I do not speak, but in irritation I speak foolishly.

For a fire is kindled from my wrath, and shall burn to the nethermost depths, consuming the earth with its yield, and setting afire the foundations of the mountains.

The earth shall eat its fruit, and burn the foundations of the mountains.

I will gather calamities upon them and spend my arrows against them.

Teeth of the living gleaming within me, with strength they smite upon the earth.

There is no awe in their hearts, and from the temples of theirs there is fear: a youth with a maiden, existing with a perfected elder.

Spake He: I will scatter them abroad, but I will set their memorial before men.

If not for wrath of enemies, let them not long endure, and let them not lie down to fight.

Let it not be said: "Our hand is high, and the Lord hath not made us."

For they are a people without counsel, and there is no understanding in them.

Not can they understand: all these shall receive in the coming year.

How can one flee before a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless the Lord had delivered them into captivity and God himself given them over?

А҆́ще не бг҃ъ ѿда́стъ ѧ҆̀, и҆ гдⷭ҇ь преда́стъ ѧ҆̀;
If God doth not deliver, the Lord will deliver.

For their God is not as our God; their adversaries are fools.

For their vine is from the vine of Sodom, and their grapes from the vineyards of Gomorrah; their clusters are bitter, a taste of gall.

Grapes of wrath they are, grapes of gall, grapes of bitterness they are.

Their wine is the venom of dragons, and the bitter venom of asps.

Не сїѧ̑ ли всѧ̑ собра́шасѧ ѹ҆ менѐ, и҆ запечатлѣ́шасѧ въ сокро́вищахъ мои́хъ;
Hast Thou not gathered all Mine treasures within My treasuries and sealed them up?

In the day of judgment, I will repay them, in the time suddenly they shall be stumbled.

As the day of their perdition drew nigh, and they stood prepared for you.

For the Lord judgeth His people, and He will hear the prayers of His servants.

For verily thou wast wearied and fainting in time, and hast labored.

И҆ речѐ гдⷭ҇ь: гдѣ̀ сꙋ́ть бо́зи и҆́хъ, и҆̀хже ѹ҆пова́ша на нѧ̀; и҆́хже тꙋ́къ же́ртвъ и҆́хъ ꙗ҆дѧ́сте, и҆ пїѧ́сте вїно̀ тре́бъ и҆́хъ;
And the Lord said: Wherefore, O ye that hope in Him, do ye offer unto Him the sacrifices thereof; and drink the libations thereof.

Let them rise and help you, and become your protectors.

Behold, behold, that I am He, and there is none else besides Me: I strike, and I heal, and there is no deliverer from My hand.

I beseech Thee, and I create life: smite Thou, and I heal; and there is none that can resist my hand.

For I lift up my hand unto the heavens, and say, I shall live for ever.

As lightning my desire speeds forth, and I receive the judgment thereof with My hand.

And I will give vengeance to my enemies, and to them that hatred have toward me.

I will make my arrows drink blood, and my sword shall feast on flesh; from the blood of the slain and the captives, from the head of hostile rulers.

By the blood of the slain and the captivity, from the heads of the pagan princes.

Rejoice, O heavens, with him; let all the sons of God worship him. Rejoice, ye nations, with his people; exalt him, all ye angels of God, for he will avenge the blood of his servants and render vengeance to his adversaries, and be merciful unto his land and his people.

Gladden ye the hearts of men with the joy, and let them be strengthened by Thee, O Son of God.

As the blood of His own sons He avenges, and He will avenge: and He shall render to His enemies and to those who hate Him.

And the Lord shall purify the land of His own people.

Glory, and now:
