believers ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit, instructing and strengthening them in keeping the commandments of God to achieve a blessed life.

The ever-flowing, animal, and enlightening source, co-essential with the Father, the creative power, who has beautifully fulfilled all the responsibilities for human salvation, Christ our God, has unbroken the bonds of death, and broken the rivets of hell, and trampled down many evil spirits.

He brought to Himself an immaculate slaughter for us, and gave a most pure body as a sacrifice, inviolable and impervious to all sin, and by this terrible and inscrutable sacred act He gave us eternal life: He descended into hell, and crushed the eternal faiths, and showed the sunrise in darkness to those who sit: the beginning of the evil and deep serpent caught by divinely wise flattery, and bound with chains of darkness in Tartarus and unquenchable fires, and in the outer darkness of Thy innumerable strength, hardened with strength, the great Wisdom of the Father, the great helper who appeared to those who are attacked, and enlightening those who sit in the darkness and the shadow of death.

You are the ever-present glory, Lord, and the beloved Son of the Most High, ever-present in the Light from the ever-present Light, Sun of Truth, hear us praying to You, and give rest to the souls of Your servants, our fathers and brothers who have fallen before us, and our other relatives in the flesh, and all of ours in the faith, of whom we create memory now, for in You is the power of all, and in the hand Yours contains all the ends of the earth.

Master Almighty, God the Father and Lord of mercy, the mortal and immortal race, and the Creator of all human nature, which is composed, and again resolved, life and death, dwelling here, and transmutation there: measure the years of the living, and set the times of death: bring down to hell and raise up: bind in weakness, and let go with power: build the present needs, and manage the future usefully: cheer the wounded with the mortal sting of the resurrection with hopes.

For He Himself is the Lord of all, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth, and those who are in the seas far away, Who also on this last and great saving day of Pentecost feast, showed us the mystery of the Holy and Consubstantial, and co-essential, and inseparable, and unmerged Trinity, and the influx and coming of Thy Holy and Life-giving One The Spirit, in the form of fiery tongues poured out on Thy holy apostles, and set up those evangelists, pious of our faith, and confessors and preachers of true theology, showing: And on this all-perfect and saving holiday, purification for prayer, for those who are kept in hell, you are vouchsafed to receive, and give us great hopes of weakening the contents from the defilements that contain, and Receive Your consolation.

Hear us humble ones, and Your servants praying to You, and give rest to the souls of Your servants before the dead, in a place of light, in a place of greenery, in a place of coolness: from them have fled all sickness, sorrow and sighing, and bring their spirits to rest in the villages of the righteous, and grant them peace and weakness: for not the dead will praise You, Lord, lower than those who exist in hell confession they will dare to bring You: but we bless You alive and pray, and bring cleansing prayers and sacrifices to You for their souls.
