O merciful Saint John of Christ, great prayer book, patron of the orphans, helper of those in need, healer of the weak and protector of those in adversity! We come to you, as a quick helper and great intercessor, with faith and love, and before your holy, whole-bearing relics and the holy icon we humbly pray to you. You abided on the land of Christ, filled with love and kindness towards the suffering, and like a wonderful treasury of mercy, you acquired the name merciful for yourself. You, abounding in the bounty of your mercies, like an ever-flowing, abundant river, have appeared, abundantly watering all who thirst. You, filled with love and goodness, were like an abundant granary of pure, nutritious wheat, abundantly satisfying all the hungry. You, having squandered your wealth on the poor and wretched, you have shown yourself to be an inexhaustible treasure of gold and silver, providing for all those who are in poverty and interceding for those who are offended by unmerciful lenders: and so not a single one from those who demand your mercies and generosity is deprived of your goodness and supplies.

You were the speedy admonition, heartfelt consolation and all-powerful intercession of all people in all sorrows and insults that come from evil people through the slander of the devil, and in every misadventure and trial sent by God’s permission, as not a single one of those who came to you was deprived of your consolation and intercession. You, constantly in prayer, have acquired the wealth of wholesome prayer, not only did you yourself do mercy to everyone, but you also warmed the hearts of evil people to console the mourning and embittered, to the charity of the weak and wretched. We also believe, O good saint of Christ, that after your resettlement in the heavenly abode you received a great reward for your prayers, deeds and good deeds, and moreover, the gracious gift of mercy was strengthened in you, and you became an inexhaustible vessel of all goodness.

Let us, O servant of God and merciful helper, through your intercession and intercession before the Lord God, so that all who come running to you in prayer and before your holy relics and your grace-filled icon will find a peaceful and serene life, health and salvation, love and unanimity, in temporary sorrows and sorrows, consolation, in everyday needs and deprivations, help: instill in us the hope of eternal blessings and peace in the Kingdom of Heaven, as if everyone, through your omnipotent intercession, accepts all gifts of mercy, and they themselves will be filled with love for each other, and yes will dwell in us and in this city, in this holy monastery and in all who call upon your name, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, to Him belongs all glory, honor and worship, with the Beginning Father and His Only Begotten Son, always, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
