According to the Gospel, the primate says this prayer for everyone to hear:
Lord our God, who through the multitude of Your mercy exhausted Himself and received the form of a servant, who, during Your saving and life-giving and free Passion, deigned to sup with Your saints, the disciples and apostles: and therefore He girded Himself with laziness, and washed the feet of the disciples, giving them an image of humility and love, a hedgehog to each other, and saying: as I have done to you, so do you to each other! Even now, Master, in the midst of Your unworthy servants, those who follow Your image, having come to wash away all the filthiness and impurity of our souls, so that, having washed away the dust that has clung to us from sins and wiped away each other through lazy love, we will be able to please You all the days of our lives and find grace before You. For You are the One who blesses and sanctifies all things, O Christ our God, and we send up glory to You, with Your Originless Father, and Your All-Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages.
