O most praiseworthy and wonderful prophet of God Elijah, who shone forth like the angels of your life on earth, and was glorified by your ardent zeal for the Lord God Almighty, also glorified by signs and glorious wonders, and at the end of your life on a chariot of fire with your flesh to heaven naturally delighted, in recent years, with the transfigured Savior of the world on Tabor, he was able to talk, and now he always dwells in the heavenly villages and stands before the throne of the Heavenly King! Hear us, sinners and indecent ones, standing before your holy icon and zealously resorting to your intercession. Pray for us to the Lover of Mankind, may He give us a spirit of repentance and contrition for our sins, and by His omnipotent grace will help us to leave the paths of wickedness, to excel in every deed, and in the fight against our passions and lusts, may He strengthen us: may He implant in our hearts the spirit of humility, meekness, the spirit of brotherly love and kindness, a spirit of patience and chastity, a spirit of zeal for the glory of God and one’s salvation and good care for one’s neighbors.
By your prayers, prophet, we have abolished the evil customs of the world, and especially the pernicious and pernicious spirit of this age, turning away the Christian race from the Divine faith and statutes of the Holy Church, and seducing the parents and authorities with disrespect, and thus all people into the abyss of wickedness and destruction overthrown. Ask, prophet of God, from the Lord our shepherd, holy zeal for God, care for the salvation of the flock, wisdom, piety and strength in temptation in teaching and governance: ask for impartiality and selflessness for judges, for all those in power, mercy and justice, for subordinates, obedience and zealous zeal for your obedience: so it is in the world and having lived piously in this world, we will be worthy to partake of eternal blessings in the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom honor and worship are due, with His Beginning Father and the Most Holy Spirit, forever and ever.
