Most merciful and all-powerful Lord Jesus Christ, my God, who hast become incarnate for our salvation, having descended into the womb of the holy Theotokos, many times hast thou come down and taken flesh for love of us. For that thou mightest save all. And again, save me by thy grace, I beseech thee: for if thou hast saved me from deeds, there is no grace or gift but only a greater debt. Thou art full of mercy and ineffable in power! For believing in thee, thou didst say to me, O Theotokos, "Truly, he that believeth on me shall live, and shall not see death for ever." And if faith be without works, it profiteth nothing; but I believe: save me, for thou art my God and Creator. Faith indeed with its works maketh itself perfect in me, O my God, for thou wilt not find one work from the righteous that is wanting to me. But let this faith of mine prevail over all, let it convince, let it justify me, let it show me a partaker of thy eternal glory. Let not Satan steal me away and boast, saying, "I have wrested thee from the hand and rewards of God." But if thou wilt, save me; if thou wilt not, O my God, take pity on me now, quickly, quickly, for thou art my God from the womb of my mother. Grant me to love thee now as I loved that same sin sometimes, and again work in me without sloth a hunger, as before I worked with diligence for the deceitful one. More than all this will I work for thee and thy Theotokos, and Jesus Christ, in all days of my life, now and ever, and to ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy, O Angel who keepeth the life of man.

Saint Angel, stand before the anointing of my soul and the passion of my life, do not forsake me, nor let sin overcome me by lack of self-control: do not give a place to the crafty demon to possess me with the force of this mortal body: strengthen the afflicted and poor hand of mine, and guide me on the way of salvation. O Saint Angel, guardian and protector of my anointed soul and body, forgive all that I have grieved Thee in all days of my life: and if I have sinned also in this present night, cover me in this day, and preserve me from every temptation contrary to Thee, that I may not be angry with God. And pray for me before the Lord, that He may strengthen me in my own passion, and show me worthy of His goodness. Amen.
