Granting us a merciful dawn, we have come to the Virgin: and the infant, having recognized Thy holy kiss, rejoiced and with games sang a song to the Theotokos:
Rejoice, ye branches unfeeling of rod:
Rejoice, O fruit of the immortal hope.
Rejoice, O doer of the deeds of the lover of mankind:
Rejoice, O Giver of Life, who hast given birth to us in life.
Rejoice, O earth, bearing the sharp thorns generously:
Rejoice, table, bearing the temple of life.
Rejoice, for the paradise of life doth flourish:
Rejoice, for thou hast prepared a resting-place for souls.
Rejoice, pleasant incense of prayers:
Rejoice, O sanctifier of all the world.
Rejoice, O Lady of the Mortal Willing Ones:
Rejoice, O boldness of mortals toward God.
Rejoice, O Bridegroom without a Bride.
